Astrid was escaping an evil that she would later soon realize was a lesser evil than the one she had put herself into. Johannes was kind and warm towards her, but it was all part of the game. Astrid would later soon realize that evil was everywhere and she wouldn't be able to escape it. She would never be able to escape his evil.
