Matt was miserable, still. Daily, he kicked himself for not following his heart and happiness. Val and Matt's sons were getting older and showing their independence, which left Matt lonely more than half the time.

Katy hadn't moved on emotional but she did move physically as far as she could with Charlie by her side. Hard times hit Katy's family which cause her to have to return back to the place she once called home.
