SEVEN || ARE YOU OKAY?

They ended up in the alley behind the club and Quinn couldn't help but be overcome with panic. She kept making moves, trying to deflect him and get him away from her, but nothing she was doing was working. He would either block her or just take the punches in stride, acting like he didn't even feel them. She caught him once hard in the jaw and he didn't even flinch, just kept dragging her and laughing at her efforts.

Once they got to the darkest corner of the alley, he pinned her against the dirty brick wall and she prepared for the worst. He forced her into a kiss once more and she tried everything she could to get him off, but he was so much stronger than her that it didn't even really seem to matter.

Before he managed to do anything else, they both turned their heads at the sound of low, manic-sounding laughter coming from the end of the alley. The man's hands flew off of Quinn instantly and he pushed her away from him roughly, causing her to fall to the ground. J came into view in the darkness and Quinn had never been happier to see him.

"Don't you know it's bad manners to force a lady?" he asked as he approached, grabbing the man by the collar and shoving him up against the wall.

"Look, Mister J. She lifted my wallet. I was just-" the man began, but J punched him directly in the nose, instantly silencing him.

"You were just nothing! You brought her out here to take advantage of her and you're going to die for it!" J thundered, angrier than Quinn had ever heard him. Before she even realized what he was doing, he whipped one of the pistols out of the holster that was always on him and shot the man in the head, letting his body drop to the ground with a heavy thud.

Wiping his hands on his black suit pants, he moved to where Quinn was still cowering on the ground and offered her a hand up. She took it and he held her closely, but instead of the devilish look that had been on the other man's face, J's face was clouded over with concern.

"Are you okay?" he asked her, taking her face in his hands and caressing it gently. She couldn't bring herself to answer. "Q, come on. Talk to me. Did he hurt you?" he asked her, leaning close to her face.

Instead of answering, she kissed him passionately, putting her hands on either side of his face and leaning into him. He didn't kiss back at first, and then suddenly he did. He held her close to him and his kiss made her feel more powerful than she'd ever felt in her life and she wasn't sure how or why, but she never wanted it to end. He pulled away a moment later and she wished he hadn't.

"You didn't answer my question," he said matter-of-factly, and she couldn't help but smile at him. He looked at her with his clear blue eyes and she suddenly saw him completely differently than she had before and wanted nothing more than to be as close as she currently was to him forever. Their bodies were still hovering just inches apart and his face was still angled down toward hers.

"I'm okay," she whispered and he nodded, seemingly satisfied. "Do you make a habit of shooting every guy that touches all of your girls?" she asked him, mostly joking to try and break the tension that was suddenly between them. Instead, his face became fiercely serious and he looked at her with something in his eyes that she couldn't quite read.

"I don't have 'girls', Quinn," he said, and she shrugged.

"Why not?"

"Because I want you," he said, pushing her up against the wall, pinning her the same way she'd just been pinned. Only, this time she didn't feel any fear. This time, all she felt was lust.

"Maybe... maybe we should go back to the house," she whispered, her voice just slightly shaky.

"Maybe we should," he agreed quietly, although he wasn't making any move to leave.

"What?" she asked him a moment later, and for a second she thought he might not have heard her but finally his eyes focused on hers.

"You're beautiful, Quinn," he said, surprising her with how sweet his tone sounded.

"You're beautiful," she told him, and she could tell that he was caught off-guard by her words. His eyes went wide for a second and she could've sworn that his face went just slightly red under his light face makeup.

Then without warning he turned, grabbing her hand and leading her gently toward his car. They got in and he drove back to the house quickly and recklessly, cackling almost the whole way. Once they were finally home, she got out of the car quickly and started up the stairs to the back entrance of her apartment. He followed her closely behind and as soon as they were inside, he started kissing her roughly.
