Lust in Love

Five - Leaving

"Never cheat on me agin!" I yell at Annaline.

She glares at me.

--

A couple of mornings later. . .

I turn to where Annaline should be.

But she's gone.

I spend the rest of the Saturday waiting for her.

But she doesn't come back.

Then I realise.

The Daily Prophet.

Their main article today is:

MALFOY AND MUDBLOOD - LOVERS CURSE?
By Rita Skeeter

This morning a girl who went by the name of Annaline (last name unknown - she wouldn't tell me it) told me she was to marry Draco Malfoy next week. But she said she was rethinking it.

"Harry is my true love." Says Annaline, "Draco's forced me into this marriage. I think all he wants is intimacy."

"You said Harry, darling girl. Did you mean Harry Potter?"

"Of course I meant Harry Potter! He's been in love with me ever since he first saw me, my dear Rita!"

I slap down the paper before I can read the rest. Stupid, betraying Annaline.

Why do I still love her?
