On Her Own

Spinning, twirling, her thoughts were whirling. She was scared to go, but she was even more scared to stay. To stay and get stuck in an ongoing loop of her repetitive habits. It was time that she grew up, grew out. It was time that she became an adult. She had a job, she filed for student aid, and applied for college. Now she only searched for a safe, affordable place in which to live and study. She found a place, but still had a lot to do to get there. She would need to get a copy of her birth certificate, tour the premises, and apply for a loan before packing and purchasing the necessary items for living as an individual. Hundreds of dollars would be spent in her first two months of living alone before she would settle into a steady groove of paying bills and fending for herself. The real world is a scary place, but there are no other options for her.
