The Abduction

1.

It was morning time in New York city. The cars were flying through traffic in full force, everyone busy trying to get to work or school. No one had time to stop for morning coffee or breakfast at one of their favorite morning cafes. Everyone looked as if they were in a hurry to get to where they were going. But not one girl. She walked out of her Victorian apartment complex, a complex that looked like it was built by roman emperors in the early 1800s. The city was her favorite, she was a city girl and loved seeing all of the friendly faces walking down the street. Not like her Floridian life, when no one walked down the street at all, it was all cars and sports bikes. Here was a new atmosphere, she loved it.

"Brianna, sweet heart, you left your wallet, while you're out if you could get some groceries I'd really appreciate it." Her mother came out dressed in her pajamas and handed Brianna her Harry Potter wallet and house keys.
"Sure mom, anything you need." Before she walked down the steps and into the crowd of rushed people, most on their cellphones or looking down at their kindles, reading while walking, that was a thing in New York City.
She tried to dodge the people who clearly weren't watching where they were going, but each person she tried dodging she'd just run into another person who than looked at her with disgust and cursed her out as they walked away.
"Yeah asshole, can't face me can you?" The only thing she couldn't stand was how rude rushed people were. She tried to ignore everyone bumping into her and finally managed to get to the supermarket which was just across the street from her house. When she reached the market she went inside and took out the list her mother had given her and scanned through it, trying to rush in and out so she could dodge the crowd that were pushing their carts around like maniacs. She scoffed and kept moving forward, trying to ignore everyone so she could get what she needed done, until she heard a familiar voice shouting her name from the main entrance.

"Bri, hey!" Brianna turned around and saw her friend she made when she first arrived, Zoey, rushing over to her, leaving her brother behind to shop by himself.
"Oh my gosh, it's great to see a friendly face, I missed the shit out of you, it's a busy fuckin' day, I can't stand rush hour mornings, we haven't had one of those in weeks."
"That's why I live in Washington D.C, it's quiet in my neighborhood, but no you had to come to the big city, you know they have great colleges out there, I'm sure my brother can help you get started, you do remember he's in politics, right?" Zoey patted her shoulder as Bri nodded her head, but her dream was to go to New York and attend, Columbia University.
"I get it though, but before I leave tonight I we should go to lunch or dinner, or ya know something.. It'll be months before I see you again, so hurry up and meet me outside." Zoey kissed her cheek and hustled to find her brother outside talking to random strangers, as he usually did.
Bri hurried along to find what she needed so she could meet her friend and go to lunch, se kept thinking about the University, and how it was going to be the beginning of a brand new life, a good one. She wanted to be the first person in her family to go to a good University and make a living out of herself and not be a disappointment like her father always made fun of her for. That was another reason she left Florida, because of him.

When she was done shopping, she walked out of the market with 3 bags on each arm, and saw Zoey sitting at a small table across the street at a popular café, the Candle Café, alone. She ran to her apartment and painfully knocked on the door, her arms were giving out from the heavy bags, and it took her mom what felt like an eternity to open the front door.

"Oh, thanks sweet heart I appreciate it, here I know your arms must feel like their gonna break, lay them on the floor I'll get them." Brianna smiled to get through the breaking of her arms, and kissed her mothers cheek.
"I'm gonna go eat lunch with Zoey, she's at Candle waiting for me, be back soon." Her mother waved as she closed the door behind her, running to Zoey and sitting down, scaring the shit out of her.

"For fuck sake, you know I get jumpy." Zoey held her chest and checked her surroundings.
"See any cute guys yet?"
"No.. I'm not worried about relationships."
"You need to stop living in a loner world and meet people, I can't be the only person you know here, I mean I don't even live here, you're lucky I'm an hour away or you'd be lost."
Zoey was right.
"I'm preparing for college, I'm serious about this, I'm gonna be busy with school work and trying to get outstanding grades, that comes before men." Brianna grabbed a menu and scanned through it, knowing she was that hungry but tried to eat anyways so she wouldn't upset Zoey.
"I get you're nervous, but you need to eat babe. This is a great opportunity, I'm sorry I'm not being overly supportive, but I do care and I can't wait to see you become a successful business woman."

"Hi, I'm Annie I'll be your waitress, can I get you anything to drink, are you ready to order?"
"Yes! I'll take a Triple Chocolate Frappuccino. What about you Bri?"
"Um, a Vanilla Iced Coffee please, extra sugar."
"You got it! Be back soon." The waitress left excitedly.

They sat there in silence, Bri folded her arms on the table and looked down at the cloth moving rapidly when the wind started blowing out of nowhere, her long curly brown hair covering her eyes, she didn't even attempt moving it out of the way, she knew it'd go right back in her eyes, all Zoey could do was laugh.
"You need a hair tie, babe?"
"No, my bangs will jus get in the way than I'll want to chop off all my hair, best to just let it be, the wind will stop eventually."
"Oh my God, hey.. Did you know there were celebrities in town?"
"Oh my God, I don't really care about that." Brianna rolled her eyes.
"You should, you never know when Johnny Depp will come up from behind you." Zoey looked behind Bri.
Bri shot a look behind her and than back at Zoey angrily. "Don't do that!"
"But um.. Another one of your favorites is in town." Zoey nodded towards the market Bri was at earlier, she looked over to see one of her favorites actors on his phone looking around like a lost puppy.
"That's Michael Keaton..." Zoey whispered.
"Why are you whispering, he's clear across the street, and no I'm not going up to him, oh.. Coffee." Bri always ignored meeting new people and always tried changing the subject.
"You're such a loner, there's nothing wrong with saying hi and begging for an autograph."
"Yes there is, now let me drink my coffee in peace, dammit."

About an hour had passed, and they had already ordered 3 of the same drinks. They were full, but couldn't get up because they felt they'd vomit and embarrass themselves. They sat there for another thirty minutes and waited for their stomachs to calm down and finally managed to stand up and stretch before leaving a tip. They decided to go their separate ways, Zoey had a plane to catch and Bri had to go to the University to sign up for her night classes, she would start nightly and work her way up to going there full time, she wanted to start slow before jumping into the hardest part.

"Okay, love. It was nice catching up, and remember I'm here to support you through it all, if you ever need me just call me, I'll always make time for my bestie."
"Thanks, Zoey I love you." Bri squeezed her tightly and than let her go, she watched Zoey walk away momentarily before starting to walk off on her own, she waited at the edge of the sidewalk, which wasn't as busy as it was earlier, thankfully. She waited for the walk signal to light up, looking ahead of her, she saw Michael finally off of his phone, hands in his pocket looking like he was going in her direction. She always said if she came in contact with a celebrity, knowing she would at some point living in New York City, that'd she would remain calm, they were people just like her. Just more rich and had people up their ass 24/7. But people seemed to not bother him, he was left alone, probably how he liked it. Who liked fans up their ass day and night, with no privacy, everyone liked a bit of privacy.

Finally the walk signal lit up, and Bri darted down the road, she tried looking down at the ground but couldn't, she saw Michael ahead of her looking up at her direction, his eyes locked on her, and he didn't unlock them. She looked into his eyes, looking back at her, his facial expression full or eerie and full of fear. Bri's eyes bulged, her mouth falling down to the ground slowly, she looked away as fast as she could, the wind blowing harder and harder, she couldn't see the rest of the sidewalk as her hair was completely in her eyes. Suddenly she heard a loud honk. She jolted to a stop and moved the hair from her face to see the signal light was off and was almost run over by a jeep. She ran to the sidewalk and looked behind her to see him staring at her. It was for a good five seconds before he walked away and didn't look back. She realized that was the most creepiest celebrity encounter she'd been in, but tried not to think much of it.
She couldn't move and waited for him to be completely out of sight before she started walking to her destination. She couldn't take her mind off of it though, the way his eyes stared into her soul was the most disturbed she'd been in a while, probably ever.
She avoided thinking about anything other than the University, which was in plain sight, her smile was back as she speed walked over to the main entrance of the school and walked inside, her life was about to change, from the moment she walked into the building, the journey to her political career was in full force.

"You must be Brianna. I have your report here, your referral, and the paperwork you need to fill out for the classes, make sure to have these in by the morning so we can get you scheduled right away, okay?" The older woman at the front desk never broke her smile, and handed Brianna the papers so she could be on her way.
"Thank you, much appreciated, I'll have these in to ASAP." She had the choice to leave, but decided to look around instead, she wanted to get a feel of the University, and wanted to get her barring's so that hopefully when she started she'd avoid getting lost.

She spent most of the evening there, it was getting darker by the time she had left the building, she knew her mother must have been worried and sent her a text to let her know she was okay, she looked down at her phone for a few moments to check her phone and looked back up to see a man sitting at the benches 20 feet away from where she was standing. He looked familiar. She walked a little closer, he seemed to be hiding his face with a newspaper, but the jacket he was wearing was similar to the one she saw Michael wearing when she passed him on the street earlier that day. Than she realized it was him. Was he following her? That was the first thing on her mind. She didn't realize being followed by an actor she liked was so terrifying. Just the way he was acting when passed her, to following her to the college, and he couldn't even say anything, not even a hello, he just eyed her, hard. Like he was drilling a hole in her head with his eyes. She started walking away, quickly but stealthy, so she wouldn't alarm him, or make him think she knew he was following her, but it didn't work, she looked behind her to see him walking in her direction, newspaper clenched in hand, it seemed the more she walked the darker it got, which wasn't helping her fear, but she kept walking and listened closely to hear how close he was getting, and walked as quickly as possible trying to reach the main road where there were plenty of people. Her breathing was becoming labored, she was thin, but definitely didn't work out, walking too fast still wore her out after 5 minutes and she had to stop to catch her breath and when she looked behind her, he was gone.
What the fuck was going on?

She finally reached home, put her bag down at the foot of her staircase and sat on the steps and leaned her head against the railing.
It was dark inside, her mom was probably in bed and Bri was tired and wanted to go to bed herself but had too much on her mind. She needed to catch her breath for a moment and finally managed to calm down. She didn't want any rational thoughts about what he was doing but sometimes couldn't help but wonder if he was a crazy person who liked scaring young girls, but she didn't want to think about that anymore, she got up to head upstairs but before she could reach the top of the steps she heard a faint knocking at her front door. She could feel her neck crack as she whipped it around to see what was going on. She saw a shadow standing there at the front door, there was a noise that sounded that of a key drawing across a car door that made her fall on her ass and covered her ears tightly. Than the figure disappeared. "Holy fuck.." She started breathing heavily again and ran into her bedroom, slammed the door shut and locked it. She couldn't even attempt to go to sleep, she was officially freaking out. Was she being stalked one of her favorite actors, and why her? The thoughts kept running through her mind as she changed into her pajamas. The usual tank top and no pants thing to keep her from being too hot in the middle of the night. Finally she fell asleep, not even realizing she did.

But when she woke up in the morning, what happened next was the beginning of a whole new journey, and Bri wasn't prepared for it.
