Chapter 8
Jack and I had nearly finished the bottle, and split a load of bread between us
"Jess..."Jack said looking at me as it was late at night, everyone was asleep..accept for Hector... he was steering..I swear that man never sleeps....Jack and I were laying on a blanket, looking up at the stars together.
"What is it Jack?"I asked calmly
"I think we should talk about...Salazar"Jack said turning his head to me. I sighed closing my eyes... hearing my mother's screaming in my head. I groaned holding my head
"It's...pretty dark...I'm not sure if you really wanna know that part of my past"I said sitting up and pulling my knees close to my chest. Jack sat up and put a hand to my shoulder.
"Jess I love you....I want to know what he did to you...and your mother.."Jack said looking at me with those begging eyes...I could never deny them. I sighed deeply
"I was...14..I've told you how my father was in the Royal Guard....well...once he died, there was nothing to stop the royal guard from coming in and trying to kill my mother for piracy...so she packed all we could carry with us in the middle of the night...and we stole a royal guard ship, and sailed to tortuga...there we found a crew, repainted the ship to my mother's liking, and sailed as pirates...I loved it...I mean I had to do the usual crap, swab the decks, hoist the colors, chores, and stuff like that... My mother always made it a habit to teach me how to steer a ship, and how to be a Captain...she taught me never to bite my tongue and always fight my way out of things...I owe all my fighting skills to her.. well, for about a year, Salazar was making an effort to chase us to the ends of the earth and kill us all.. one day..he finally caught up....my mother sent me into the captains quarters....told me not to come out no matter what I hear...under any circumstance to hide and not to come out...I did as told...I went into the wardrobe in our quarters....and I hid....I've never heard...so much.....pain...but when I heard my mothers screams....." I stopped for a minute...putting my face down on my knees and holding my head, gripping my hair.
"Hey...I'm here Jess...tell me everything...you know I'd never let anything happen to you"Jack said pulling me to him and letting my head rest on his shoulder
"He sliced my mother's head clean off.....and put her head on the handle of a sword that was stabbed into the floor of the ship...he had found me in the wardrobe....I of course had a mouth on me and he slapped me and threw me over board...I saw an island was nearby...so I swam as fast as I could but I knew I was going to die....I knew this was it for me...I couldn't out swim his cannons...or his crews guns... but in some lick of faith...some other ship was taunting him...he forgot about me and him and his crew got back on their ship and went after that mystery ship....I mean, he didn't forget to blow up my moms ship...her crew and her all were on that ship...low and behold the island I swam to was Tia Dalmas....and from there she raised me till I was about 18...and then I set off to be a Captain.. but I never got to thank who ever saved me that day"I said biting my lip
"So thank me"Jack said simply. I raised my eyebrow and looked at him
"What do you mean?"I asked Jack
"Think harded...I know our eyes met that day..."Jack said. I closed my eyes and thought really hard
(Flash back)
I was swimming for dear life...I knew this was it so I was just waiting for it until I head some young voice yelling to Salazar that they couldnt get him. I turned back, and saw a man in a crows nest with a red bandana, white shirt and tan pants at the crows nest. I couldn't see that far...but him and I exchanged looks...and he nodded at me to go.I then started swimming again, even faster this time to the island while Salazar chased after this ship
(End flashback)
"It was you....well you were so much younger...but it was you...all this time...Jack you saved my life and I can't think of a way I'll ever be able to repay that...you set me on the path I'm on today.. I mean I've done everything I said I've wanted to do...because you gave me a second chance at life"I said in shock and a couple tears fell
"You're welcome love...I wasn't much older then you...I was 16 when I first became a Captain...but it would appear fate had plans for us...we just didn't know it...I will not let Salazar get to you...and I'll be damned if he thinks he'll get any where near our daughter...we're going to kill him love..I vow that to you...we owe it to your mother"Jack said kissing my hand. I sighed hugging him
"I love you so much Jack Sparrow"I said resting my head on his shoulder
"And I love you...my water lily"Jack said kissing my lips. We stayed like that for a while before I started hearing Henry yelling for the crows nest
"Red coats!Red coats!"He yelled.
"Awww bloody hell!What do they want?!"I said annoyed as I walked up to the wheel, where Carina was still steering, and took the wheel.
"It may get bumpy with these bloody gits. Best you direct me as we escape"I said
"You sound confident"Carina said
"Aye, because we have the fastest ship in the world"I said smiling.
"Alright men battle stations! She comes starboard!Fight to the last men!I will not be losing me ship again!"I yelled to the men who all rain to their stations
"Aye you be borrowing Jessica"Barbossa said walking up the steps
"I'm younger..I don't have to wait long for you to die"I said smirking at him.
"Steer the bloody ship!"Barbossa said offended. I giggled but just then I started to see lightning over by the british ship....and for every flash of light...I saw Salazar's ship...getting taller and taller...about to crash ontop of the British ship...until it did...and the ship completely exploded....Salazar's ship sailing right through it..
"Shit"I cursed. No more being afraid.
"Hector?"I said to Barbossa nervously
"What ever happens stay your course!"Hector said to me. He yanked me close to him
"Hey!Hect-" I stopped seeing Hector stare at me with glassy eyes
"I will give you the same promise I gave Elizabeth, Hector...I'll keep her safe"I whispered to him. He nodded thankfully and drew his sword ready for the fight to come. I went back to the wheel
"What was that?"Carina said confused
"Nothing nothing, just a few last words to an old girlfriend"I said smirking. Carina didn't buy it but she knew now was not the time to be pressing me about it. We had other concerns.
"Where the bloody hell is Jack?!"I asked looking around
"Apologies Jess, I had the men tie him up and gag him again"Hector said. I groaned
"Of COURSE you did!"I yelled annoyed.
Salazar's ship rammed right into ours. I groaned and turned the wheel the opposite way to get away from him. Henry was hanging on the rope that led to the crows nest.
Salazar and his crew hopped onto our ship
"Jack Sparrow!Sea pup!"He yelled. I glared
"Carina take the wheel and get us out of here!"I said. She nodded and took the wheel and I ran off to where Jack was
"I'm sorry love"I said as I took the cloth out of his mouth
"He's going to kill us"Jack said in a scarred way.
"Defend your selves men!To the death!"Barbossa yelled taking out his sword. I was cutting as fast as I could through the rope as Salazar was marching this way from the other end of the ship
"Bloody hell love hurry up when's the last time you sharpened your sword and what do you use butter?" Jack said growing impatient
"Shut up Jack this is thick and there's a lot of it...but no my sword is definitely due for a sharpening"I said as I kept sawing away. Jack finally was freed
"I'm gonna go on the other ship. Try and kill the bastards on here"Jack said
"Sure, I'll just...stab the air that is their body"I said as I ran away from Salazar. Jack swung on the rope to go over to the other ship, but didn't reach it enough and swung back, falling, and landing on their cannons. Salazar jumed and landed on the cannon above Jack
"There's no where to hide"Salazar then swung at Jack, but he quickly dodged it, making Salazar's sword stuck in the ship.Jack and Salazar began jumping from cannon to cannon, meanwhile, I'm fighting god damn clothes!
I stabbed through a shirt, and heard the man I was fighting laugh, nothing I did was hurting him.
"Okay...I'm just..gonna...Gibbs!"I said Gibbs and the other men who mutinied came back on
"Uh..lets be brave!Save the Peal!"Mr.Gibbs said and ran off along with the other men. I rolled my eyes
"Idiots"I said and began to fight some more. I fought my way back up to Carina
"How's it going?!"I asked as I saw her flippin through her pages
"It has to be here Jess. It's just like the map" Carina said
"Find that land or we'll all be dead"Hector yelled holding his bleeding arm
"Hector you're hurt!"I said worried
"Aye. It be just a flesh wound. I'm fine!Get her to the island Captain!"Barbossa said and started to fight the men again.
"We're nearly there!It's here somewhere!"Carina said as I stabbed another pirate trying to stop Carina.
"Don't worry about them. Worry about our destination and I'll keep you safe"I said and she nodded. I hope Jack was alright...
I searched for Henry and saw he was doing alright with fighting
"Have you found it yet Captain?!"asked Mullroy as he fought with some pirates
"We're trying Mullroy we're trying!It's not going to pop up and yell I'm over here!"I yelled growing annoyed.
"The stars will soon be gone"Carina said growing worried
"We're gonna find it!I'll be damned if we came this far and not get this bloody trident!"I said harshly turning the wheel. I heard Barbossa yell and when I looked down I saw his other arm was cut
"Hector hold on a little longer!"I yelled trying my best to find this bloody island
"I'm doin my best lass!"Hector yelled fighting back.
"Where the hell is Jack?!"I said half worried half annoyed.
"It's there...It's there it's there it's really there!!!"I said excitedly. Carina and I hugged eachother and jumped up and down excitedly
"Carina you did it!!!"I said happily but the pit of my stomach told me Jack was in trouble
"Carina take the wheel...Jack's in trouble I can feel it!"I said and took out the compass.
"How do you know?!"Carina asked
"When you're in love you have those instincts about the other"I said and ran off. The compass told me he was clearly on the other ship...it was pointing at the ship. I grabbed a rope and swung myself over and followed the arrow till it led me down stairs. There, I saw Salazar, pointing his blade to a very unarmed Jack....
"Move away now Salazar...or I will kill you..."I said cocking my pistol
Salazar laughed
"You can not kill me...I am the fear that is in your head...the thing that keeps you up at night.. the last memory you have...of the failure you've come to be...the little girl...who couldn't save her mother... and she won't save her daught-" I shot him dead in the face. It didn't do anything unfortunately, but it sure as hell made me feel better
"You forgot one little thing...Salazar....land ho"I said smirking.
"Jack let's go before we're too far from the ship"I said and Jack got up, grabbing his sword, and we ran off and swung to the Black Pearl....This was it....it was time to find the Trident and free Will..
