Wasted

My name is Rachel, and I'm a musician. Underpaid, underappreciated, often drunk, the works. I always perform with bands, because I hate being alone. Loneliness causes me anxiety, anxiety prevents me from sleeping. I've lived in my hometown for my entire life, and it has always had a music scene. It has foundered at times, gasping desperately for air, but it has always been there. I sang in a band that came up during the current resurgence of the scene, but, well, you'll see what happened to that.

This memoir is an inside look at life in the local music scene in the Midwestern city of Mankato, Minnesota, and the emotional roller coaster it can often be.
