I Knew You Were Trouble

After spending a few hours avoiding going back to the hotel, Olivia decided that she needed to get this over with, She needed to talk to Harry and tell him sorry she was at letting things get this far in the relationship when she had no intention of letting it get any further, he deserved better that what she had to offer. She took a deep breath as she stood outside their hotel room, just needing a few more minutes to brace herself for what she was sure was going to be a ugly break up.

Olivia finally worked up the courage and opened the door, she stepped into the room, closing the door quietly behind her, she saw that Harry was busy packing his suitcase, she didn't really blame him for wanting to get away, she would have done the same.

" Oh you are back then" Harry muttered bitterly, as he pushed more clothes into his suitcase, he had never felt this betrayed before.

Moving over to the bed, Olivia sat down took her shoes off, she chucked them to the side, then turned to face Harry " I am so sorry I didn't want to hurt you" she said quietly.

Harry laughed bitterly " I loved you so much, did you ever love me?" he asked, already knowing the answer, there was only one man she had truly loved and he was currently across the hall in the room opposite them.

" I did love you" Olivia stated, it wasn't a lie she had loved Harry she just now realized that she had never been in love with him.

Harry shook his head at Olivia's lie even now she could not be truthful with him " Come on Oli, just admit it you were never in love with me" he snapped at her.

" I did love you though, that is not a lie, I do love you" She rambled nervously. If things had been different and she had not fallen for Cristiano first, things could have been difficult but they would never know now.

Pushing his packed suitcase of the bed Harry sat down on the bed he was so angry but he knew that today would have happened eventually, he had known Olivia had feelings for Cristiano when they had first gotten together, he had just hoped that she would grow to love him more than Cristiano.

" You love me but you are in Love with Cristiano" Harry smiled bitterly,

Olivia opened and closed her mouth, there was no point in denying it anymore, Harry deserved to know the truth " I tried to fight it" she replied.

" I know you did, I knew all the fighting you guys did was just to disguise what you both really felt for each other" Harry admitted.

An horrible silence fell between them, Olivia didn't know what else to say to soften the blow " I never once cheated on you, I really tried to make it work with you" she said.

" You may not have physically cheated but emotionally you were already there" Harry pointed out.

Olivia felt awful she could see how hurt Harry was , she and Cristiano could have spared him all this hurt if they had been honest with their feelings for one another.

" I am so sorry" Olivia replied, not sure what else she could say.

Harry looked at Olivia a wry smile on his face " I am sorry too, I know you didn't mean to hurt me and I should have stepped aside when Cristiano told me how he felt about you" he replied.

" Why didn't you step aside?" she asked.

Harry sighed a little as he moved away from the bed " I was slightly jealous of Cristiano, he got any girl he wanted and I just wanted this time to be different" he mumbled.

" Oh" was all Olivia said, she never thought that Harry was the jealous type he hid it well.

Harry's phone vibrated on the table, he reached for it and rolled his eyes and showed Olivia the caller id " Can't get away from him" he muttered as he rejected the call.

" So what happens next?" Olivia asked, trying to ignore the awful tension between them.

Picking up his suitcase Harry placed it by the door, before he turned back to Olivia, he could see how bad she felt but it was going take time for him to recover from this.

" We break up" he replied.

Olivia knew that was the next logical step she just felt bad that things were ending between them like this she never wanted it to end this way " I never wanted it to be like this" she said.

" Break ups are never easy someone always gets hurt and that person just happens to be me" Harry sighed, as he pulled his coat on.

Olivia moved off the bed and walked towards Harry " I hope you find someone better than me" she smiled a little.

" Just promise me one thing" Harry muttered, as he placed his hand on the door handle. " Promise me you won't get with Cristiano straight away" he added, knowing he was being a little unfair, but he couldn't bare to see pictures of Olivia with Cristiano so soon after their break up.

Olivia knew that would not be a problem, one Cristiano had a girlfriend and two she was not wanting to rush into another relationship, she needed time to herself and she would not be getting with Cristiano anytime soon.

" You don't have to worry about that, it won't be happening anytime soon" Olivia replied.

Harry smiled bitterly he believed Olivia meant what she said, but if Cristiano asked her to be his girl tomorrow he knew she would jump in his arms without a second thought.

" I am so sorry" Olivia said again, as Harry opened the door, ready to walk out of her life for good, she wouldn't blame him if he never talked to her again.

Harry turned back to look at Olivia " You still have another few days with this room you should stay and enjoy the rest of holidays, it will go to waste otherwise" he said.

" I might just do that" Olivia replied.

Harry smiled one last time at Olivia " Goodbye, we will talk about our flat when you are back, probably best if we put it up for sale" he said, before he left.

Olivia closed the door after Harry had left, she sank to the floor, feeling a little sad but more than anything she felt relieved that she didn't have to live a lie anymore. Maybe Harry was right she should enjoy the last of her holidays it would give her time to think what she was going do when she landed back in Madrid.

Olivia made her way down to the pool early next morning, she just wanted to clear her head a little, she was feeling a lot better than last night, she knew she had did the right thing and Harry would thank her eventually for not totally ruining his life. This had been the right decision for both of them.

Putting her towel on the nearest chair, she then walked to the pool and climbed in shivering a little at he coldness of the water, she slowly began to swim, doing a few laps trying to clear her mind of all thoughts of Cristiano, she had meant what she said to Harry that she would not be starting anything soon with Cristiano, but now she was single she couldn't help but think of what Ifs.

A splash in the pool Pulled Olivia from her thoughts, she saw Cristiano swimming towards her, he stopped a few yards away from her.

" How are you?" he asked.

Olivia shrugged her shoulders and moved towards the wall, she leaned her back against it " It was a horrible break up but I will survive" she replied.

" I have tried to call Harry a few times but he won't answer his phone" Cristiano said, a frown on his face.

Olivia knew Harry would not be talking to Cristiano anytime soon " He is hurting, not what you did but what I said to him last night" she smiled awkwardly.

Cristiano moved closer to Olivia " What did you tell him?" he asked curiously.

" I told him the truth he deserved to know" Olivia replied, not looking at Cristiano for his reaction.

Cristiano stared at Olivia with mixed feelings " What was that exactly?" he asked.

Olivia rolled her eyes at Cristiano " It doesn't matter it changes nothing, well not for me anyway" she mumbled.

" Did you tell him you have feelings for me?" Cristiano asked, as he laid his hands on either side of Olivia's head on wall.

Olivia wouldn't look at Crisiano, she just kept staring at the water and at how close Cristano was to her. " It doesn't matter what I told him, I will not be acting on those feelings" she said.

" Even if you want to so badly" Cristiano mumbled, as he ran his hand down Olivia's arm.

Olivia looked at Cristiano, putting her hands on his shoulders attempting to push him away but he stood firm " It doesn't matter what I want, You have Irina, and I have just ended a relationship, I need to be single for a while" she muttered.

" You know what I have with Irina is not serious" Cristiano smiled.

Olivia didn't care how serious his relationship with Irina was, she was not going to be the cause of another break up. "I need to remain single for a while" she told him again.

Cristiano smirked as he leaned closer to Olivia " I can wait" he whispered into her ear.

" You could be waiting a long time" Olivia warned him.

Cristiano smiled as he moved away from Olivia " I am a very patient man" he said, before he swam to the other end of the pool.

Olivia watched as Cristiano swam a few lengths, she was not ready for anything serious, and she had promised Harry that she would not start anything with Cristiano too soon and she was going to stick to her word. Plus she wasn't sure if she could fully trust Cristiano, she had saw how he behaved the last two years, he was rather fickle when it came to relationships.

Olivia laughed a little as she watched Just Grow With, she had seen the film a million times but she loved the film it was one of her favorite films. A soft knock at her door, made her pause the film, she frowned as she made her way over to her door, she was not expecting anyone. Pulling the door opened, she rolled her eyes a little not surprised to see Cristiano standing there.

" Shouldn't you be with your girlfriend?" she asked, blocking Cristiano's path to her room.

Cristiano shook his head " She had to go back to New York Family emergency" he replied,as he softly pushed past Olivia and stepped into her room.

" Just come in why don't you" Olivia muttered as she closed the door.

Cristiano looked at the Tv Screen before he looked back at Olivia " I thought we could spend time together tonight" he said.

" I am watching a film" she replied, as she headed back towards the bed and climbed in, pulling the covers over her body.

Cristiano took his coat and shoes off " That sounds good to me" he said, climbing into bed next to Olivia.

Olivia glanced at Cristiano she wanted to say no but no words would come out of her mouth " This just feels so wrong" she finally mumbled, as Cristiiano made himself comfortable.

" Why does it feel wrong, we are just two friends watching a film together" Cristiano replied innocently.

Keeping her eyes on the film, Olivia shook her head a little " We haven't exactly been the best of friends the last two years" she pointed out.

" We both know the reason for that" Cristiano grinned.

Olivia stared at Cristiano " So What now Harry and I are done, we can be friends again?" she asked, not sounding very happy.

" Something like that" Cristiano smiled, winking at Olivia.

Olivia looked away from Cristiano " I meant what I said this morning, I will not be starting anything with you anytime soon" she mumbled.

" Yeah I know, but I also meant what I said I can wait" he smirked,

Olivia smiled a little " That could be a long wait" she reminded him again.

Cristiano just smiled, like he knew something she didn't " We shall see" he replied, as he moved his head a little closer to Olivia's. She turned back to the film, a small smile appeared on her lips, she wondered if Cristiano was being serious or would he get bored waiting around for her, Guess she would find out in a few weeks or even months.

Olivia woke early the next morning, she tried to move but Cristiano's arm and leg across her body stopped her, this all felt wrong, even though she hadn't done anything wrong, she couldn't help but think of Harry, this is what he asked her not to do and here she was getting extra comfortable with Cristiano.

" Stop Worrying" Cristiano said sleepily.

Olivia pushed Cristiano's arm away from her body " How do you know I am worrying your eyes are closed" she mumbled.

" I know you Olivia, you are totally panicking over last night, even though we didn't do anything wrong" he replied.

Olivia pulled her hair into a bun and climbed out of bed " I didn't do anything wrong, but you have a girlfriend and I doubt she would be happy you are sharing a bed with me" she smiled.

" I told you Irina is just a casual thing, its not serious to either of us" Cristiano yawned a little, as he opened his eyes.

Olivia's heart skipped a little at the sight of Cristiano waking up in her bed and then she shook her head at the thought, this couldn't happen, she needed to be the strong one.

" She is still your girlfriend Cristiano" Olivia reminded him.

Cristiano slowly sat up, the bed sheets slipping to reveal his chest,Olivia admired the view for a couple of minutes before she picked up his shirt and flung it at him " Put it on" she muttered.

" Why?" Cristiano asked, with a sly smirk, knowing Olivia had been checking him out a few minutes ago.

Grabbing a fresh towel Olivia headed for the bathroom " Because you need to go" she replied.

" You're kicking me out? Cristiano asked, pretending to be outraged.

Olivia laughed she couldn't help it " I guess I am" she replied, trying to keep the smile that was fighting to appear off her face.

" So Cold Olivia" Cristiano replied, with a grin on his face.

Olivia smiled at Cristiano " You can handle it" she declared, before she headed into the bathroom and closed the door, hoping Cristiano would be gone by the time she was done. It made it harder for her to say no to him when he was around, after two years of denying her feelings for him because of Harry, she was finding it hard to find reasons why they should stay apart. The obvious reason was Irina and Harry, but apart from that she could not find any other reason, she had a feeling that her determination to stay away from Cristiano was going weaken over the weeks now that she was no longer in a relationship.
