Oh, Glory

I don't want this to be some stupid remake of the ending of 'High School Musical.' That's why I won't describe how it was the last day of school and I was staring at the clock like there was no tomorrow.

But when the bell finally did ring, I jumped out of my seat, slammed my books into my bag, and ran out the door before anyone had even moved.

I heard Mr. Jensen call "Hayley!" after me, but I didn't look back. No, I was running as fast as I could, dodging around bikes and cars.

I was anxious to get home because our band had practice today.

"I'm here!" I called as I broke through the garage door into the garage that Zac and Josh had designed as our room.

"Hayles!" Zac and Josh smothered me in a hug. Jeremy grabbed his bass while I tried to get some air into my lungs after all that running.

"Farro!" I managed to choke out. They let go, and I massaged my throat. "Thank you, now shall we?"
