Inside My Arms

Rain.

At home.
Amy's wagging her tail.
So happy that I came back.
But still angry that I left her.

I can't talk.
I can't walk.
I can't breathe.

I need to live.

The weather is cold.
It's raining outside.

I walk outside.
Face held up to the heavens.

I started to laugh.
How did I survive it?
Two times in a row.
What are you playing at?
Am I here for something?

I felt a presence near me.
Turned around.
Gerard.

"How do you always find me?" I ask him.

"Do you really want to know?"

I nod urgently.

"My heart starts to beat urgently whenever I sense that you're near me. I try to ignore it; tell my heart that it's just false, but my legs seems to follow your soul. I think my body is trying to tell me something," he said.

"And what would that be?"

I was smiling at him.
He narrowed his eyebrows.
Then relaxed his face.

"I think they're trying to tell me that I'm falling in love with you."

My heart suddenly stopped.
I've became paralyzed to Gerard's every movement.

"What did you say?" I asked him.

I needed to hear it again.
To make sure my ears are playing truth.

"I think I'm falling in love with you,"

I don't know what made me do it.

I went forward.

Pressed my lips against his.
Moving my muscles to his.

The rain started to soak my clothes.
Clinging to my skin.
Weighing me down.

I put my arms around his neck.
Grabbed his hair gently.
Urging him to not let go.

He wrapped his arms around my waist.
Grabbed my shirt.
Urging me to not let go.

I broke away
from his prying lips.

"Please don't make me regret this."
I whispered on his neck.
