Sense of Wonder

She could see why they were called ‘shooting stars.’ The meteor shower looked like the stars had broken free of their hold, falling across the sky in cascades, free and in all their glory.

Pity there weren’t more people there to enjoy it. It was her and four others, from the same online astronomy group, on one of their few meet-ups. They weren’t friends, really; it was just nice to be with others who shared your interest for once.

Taking in the sky’s beauty, she thought about how she wished more people would be interested. If only they realized what they were missing.
