Echoing Pain

Introduction

I gazed at the only thing I was willing to acknowledge. Steadily growing brighter as light trinkled in on the horizon- the bruise grew clearer. Blackness faded being replaced by deep hues of purples and blues. The large abyss above me threatened to swallow me up.
I lay motionless willing myself to feel the dew on the grass below me, or the cool wind that I could see blowing the curls of my dark brown hair. Unsuccessfully, I could only feel the usual streams down my cheeks. They burned and carried weight as though hot wax was permanently melting down my face.
As the warning pinks seeped into the sky I closed my eyes and held my breath wishing for a final moment that the fading abyss would take me away, and allow me to fade with it. However, same as every day my prayers to whatever was out there if anything at all went unanswered.
The day would continue, time would move forward, and I would have to be a part of it.
