Snapshot of Sunshine

Snapshot

Though the picture had aged, you could still see the brilliant blue hues in the dress. It was a gingham print sundress, cut exactly as if it was meant to fit her. Her smile helped the sunshine of the day carry through the photo, straight through the all decades that had passed. That part hasn't faded, no matter how much the rest might have. Her smile pressed on.

It was one that in person had been no less dull, either, even as my Gran grew older. It stayed that way right up until the end. It would be one of the things I missed the most.
