Reigniting the Passion

Dying Planets

"I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you!"
"And I'm trying to subtly avoid it."

"I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you!"

"And I'm trying to subtly avoid it."

"You can't subtly avoid disaster Skyla!" Exasperated, Shaughn threw his hands up.

His sister always annoyed him beyond belief, but never like this.

"Disaster doesn't happen for two days, fourteen hours, and thirty eight minutes, until then this world is still spinning."

"Making a joke about our inevitable demise is funny to you?"

"Don't be so dramatic bro." Once again the sibling dismissed him.

An unnatural screeching reverberated around the tiny planet, knocking the smile from her face.

Disbelief and horror seeped it's way into her core.

It was happening,

Hours, days, before schedule.

That deserted, forgotten planet was breaking from it's gravitational pull, defying all laws of science, proving that nothing in this galaxy ever goes as planned.

The siblings eyes met in fear as their world literally shifted, flinging them to the ceiling.

With a bark of pain, the elder spoke.

"Can I be dramatic and have that serious conversation now?"
