Youngblood

Chapter 10

Billie had disappeared to a payphone to call Lauren, while Lucy sat silently with Tré and Mike in their room.
"What's on your mind?" Mike asked after a moment, she looked up at them both.
"I think Lauren is cheating on him," she admitted "at her party I think I saw her kiss the guy who gave me ket but I haven't said anything because I was off my face but I'm like 90% sure it was her," she explained. Mike frowned

"She's a piece of shit anyway," he mumbled "she treats him like shit, she treats us like shit and he still worships her," he added. Lucy hummed, Tré chewed the inside of his cheek nervously, big blue eyes darting between his two friends. Lucy glanced at him as he opened his mouth
"She kissed me at her party," he admitted "I thought she was just drunk," he added "and I felt really guilty so I didn't tell anyone," he finished, biting his lip. Lucy hummed
"Don't tell Billie – it won't help anything and you're not in the wrong..she's trying to tear us apart," She answered "I can see what she's doing - she's trying to drive something between each of us and Billie," she added. Shaking her head, she grabbed them each a beer "we should drop it before he gets back," she told them, taking a gulp, still thinking about how to get Billie to see how toxic his relationship was.

--

"What d'you want for breakfast?" Billie asked as Lucy pulled on her jeans the next morning. She thought for a moment and shrugged
"Let's go ask about the best vegan café," she grinned, pulling her top over her head and pulling her boots on.

They sat in a booth, both drinking soya milkshakes and Lucy winked at Billie as she produced a flask with whiskey in and poured a bit in each shake. They ordered and ate hungrily. Lucy looked in her purse and up at Billie
"I'm down to $5," she told him, he hummed
"Same..what do you say we climb out of the bathroom windows?" He smirked. Lucy nodded and Billie grabbed his things, shoving them in his bag, they got up and went to the unisex bathroom. Lucy gave Billie a leg up and he pulled her up. They jumped the small drop and started to walk away quickly. Lucy pulled up her hood to hide her hair as Billie grabbed her wrist, pulling her into a run as they started trying to dodge the owner. They stopped in an alley, leaning against the wall behind some bins and caught our breath, both grinning madly from the adrenaline.

"Lauren is coming down for the first festival show," Billie announced, Lucy clenched her jaw a little but nodded
"That'll be nice," she answered, not believing it for a second but just wanting to make him think she was making an effort. He smiled and hummed, grabbing her hand and smiling
"Let's go find somewhere quiet to sit," he suggested. Lucy hummed and let him lead the way.

They eventually found a spot high up – away from pretty much everyone and sat under a tree. Billie wrapped his arm round Lucy's shoulders and pulled her close as they looked out over LA
"I love spending time with you like this," he murmured "just us against the world," he smiled. Lucy hummed and closed her eyes
"It's like all our problems just fade away," she smiled. He hummed and Lucy shifted to lay down, her head in his lap, as she looked up at him, she reached in her pocket and produced a joint, grinning and handing it to him.

They got back to the hotel and Lucy looked at Billie, Mike and Tré with wide eyes
"What do you say we get that matching tattoo?" She asked with a smirk, going to her bag and pulling out disposable sterilised needles and ink. Billie grinned
"What have you got in mind?" He asked. Lucy grabbed a pen and paper, drawing a triangle with a line across the tip - like a capital 'A' with a bottom.
"This is a symbol for exploring," she told them.

Within an hour, all four of them had the tattoo, Lucy on her left thumb, Billie on his left arm, by his armpit, Mike on his left foot just beneath his ankle and Tré just below his hand on his wrist. Lucy grabbed her camera, insisting on taking a picture of all four tattoos.
