Chapter 19

— 1993 —

Billie grinned at his friends as they walked off the stage at gilman
"I'm going to grab a drink," he told them, heading out to the bar. He stopped dead when he saw her, beer in one hand, the other playing with the necklace he'd given her. He went over, ordering a beer and leaning over to her
"Are you old enough to drink?" He smirked.

Lucy jumped a little, putting her beer down and throwing herself at Billie
"I knew I'd find you here," she grinned, hugging him tightly. They stood there for a few minutes, then Billie dragged her off to find Mike and Tré. Lucy chuckled
"What's with the dreads?" She asked, lightly tugging on the strand of Billie's hair, laughing as he shrugged. They were barely backstage, when Tré almost tackled Lucy, who just about managed to keep her balance
"Took you long enough to come back," he grinned. She hummed and shrugged
"Needed money first," she answered, lifting onto her toes and hugging Mike "I missed you guys so much," she grinned. Billie lightly held her arm
"Join me for a drink?" He asked "there's a lot to catch up on," he added with a lopsided grin. Lucy hummed and followed him out of the venue to their old spot.

"You let the bleach grow out," she observed, breaking the silence that had settled as they drank from a hip flask Billie happened to be carrying. He hummed
"I needed a change..might do it again soon," he grinned. Lucy hummed
"I love it blonde..black suits you though," she commented, turning to look out over Rodeo, her head resting on Billie's shoulder. "I've really missed it here," she murmured "I love Manchester..but I missed you guys, and I missed the town," she admitted. Billie laced their fingers together
"Lauren tried to get me back after you left," he sighed "gave me a black eye and split my lip when I told her to fuck off," he added. Lucy sat up, leaning closer to examine his lip
"You've got a tiny scar," she told him, glancing up and meeting his eyes, then moving away a little.
"D'you remember in LA when you told me about Lauren cheating and-" Lucy laughed softly and pressed her lips to his, holding his jaw and humming. It took Billie a minute, but he relaxed into her, one hand in her hair, the other supporting his weight as he leaned back and she closer.
"Yes, I remember, and yes I loved the kiss," she murmured. He grinned
“M’really glad you said that,” he chuckled “could’ve made me look like a real ass then,” he murmured. Lucy hummed
“Could’ve,” she repeated, laying her head on his shoulder.
