Youngblood

Chapter 2

Lucy found herself quickly trusting and befriending the three boys, and for them, she was a breath of fresh air - a new perspective on the small town.

They invited her to watch them practice a few weeks after that first conversation. Billie caught himself staring at her as he sang, just taking in her features. Her dirty blonde hair that fell messily to her jaw, framing her face perfectly despite the cut having been the result of late night boredom. She played absentmindedly with her nose ring as she watched them rehearse.

After the hour was up, the band packed their things and all headed back to Billie's house, stopping off to get food on the way. Tré smirked and elbowed his once dark haired friend in the side as he spotted some people from school – amongst them was Lauren Fletcher.

There was nothing necessarily special or unique about Lauren Fletcher, but for some reason, Billie thought she was the most beautiful girl he'd ever laid eyes on - but then, Billie thought 90% of girls were 'the most beautiful he'd ever laid eyes on'.

Billie glared at his friend briefly before turning to Lucy
"Order what you want..it's on us," he smiled. She nodded and ordered a large portion of fries, sitting next to Mike at the booth as Billie sat opposite – next to Tré. Billie watched Lauren, sighing and paying attention to his burger when he reminded himself she was way out of his league. Tré smirked
"You won't win her over staring like a creep," he teased. Lucy looked up and grinned
"Who?" She asked curiously
"Lauren Fletcher," Mike answered before Billie had a chance to speak. Lucy turned and looked at he girl in question discreetly
"Cute," she commented, going back to her plate of fries and smirking at Billie as his cheeks went a light shade of red "she's in my art, I'll work my magic," she promised. Billie rolled his eyes and threw one of Lucy's fries at her. She grinned and threw it back. The door to the café swung open and Lucy swore as a guy walked in. He was tall, blue eyed with dark brown, almost black hair. He scanned the room and eventually spotted Lucy. It only took four strides for him to be stood at their table.
"skipping already?" He asked, raising a bushy eyebrow "you literally didn't make it one semester?" He added as she nodded sheepishly.
"I guess I'm not allowed to stay out then?" She asked, biting back a laugh as he shook his head. She stood up, having a waitress put her fries in a takeout tub and looked back at her three friends
"I live with my brother," she explained as he rolled his eyes, walking towards the door
"I'll be in the car," he muttered. Lucy followed George and rolled her eyes
"Since when did you have a personality transplant?" She asked, sliding in the car and eating her chips.
"Since I'm responsible for you," he answered, looking over and sighing "that Billie kid is nothing but trouble, all I ever see of him is getting shoved in the back of a police car," he told her.
"Like you were any different?" She answered, raising an eyebrow "or did you loose your memory during the transplant?" She asked. He shook his head
"That's my issue Jem, he reminds me of myself too much," he answered "m'just looking out for my baby sister," he added. Lucy nodded and leaned back in her seat
"They're not bad people George," she murmured as they pulled up outside his block of flats and headed upstairs.

As promised, in Lucy's next art lesson, she sat herself next to Lauren Fletcher and smiled. The fairly plain, brown haired girl smiled back
"You're new here right?" She asked, Lucy nodded and held out her hand
"Lucy," she introduced "you're Lauren Fletcher right?" She added. Lauren nodded
"How'd you know?" She asked, looking a little confused.
"Billie told me," Lucy answered with a grin, Lauren blushed
"I saw you with him and his friends yesterday..he's cute," she answered "got that..mysterious, bad boy vibe going on and it works," she added "like he'd show up at your door and take you on a spontaneous date," she finished with a grin.
"You like him?" Lucy asked. Lauren nodded and sighed
"I'm just not..unusual enough for someone like him,"she sighed. Lucy hummed
"Maybe.." She murmured.

As soon as they got out of the lesson, Billie grabbed Lucy's arm, pulling her to the bike sheds. He quizzed her on what Lauren had said, lighting a cigarette and handing her one as he listened, green eyes lighting up when she recounted the lesson.
