It Cannot Get Any Worse

The Floater

Andrew, Darrin and Todd slipped along the edge of the woods near the river until they were in front of the house. Darrin whispered to Andrew to continue through the woods slip up to the cop car and take him out. Darrin and Todd would scoot across to the reed filled ditch and then once Andrew got the cop, they would sprint to the front door of the house. Darrin told Andrew to watch out for people in dresses throwing sticks. Andrew looked at Darrin with a puzzled expression, then shrugged and moved out.

As they waited near the river, hidden by the trees, for Andrew to get to the cop, Darrin and Todd heard someone calling out over the water. Darrin looked out and saw what appeared to be Noah hanging onto a life jacket and being swept along in the current. Darrin turned to Todd and motioned him to silence, Noah would have to figure out his own problems. If they called out to him, the cop would hear them. Darrin tapped Todd. It was time to go, Andrew would be to the cop car by now.
