Fighting Fire

“I don’t want you to see Brian anymore, Alexa.” Sarah said to her the next day. Sarah had received the text from Brian and she was not happy about it. That was her ex-boyfriend. Brian was never supposed to fall in love with Alexa. That was never part of the plan. Sarah had to break it off before Alexa started falling for him. There was no way she would accept her best friend and her ex together.

“What made you change your mind? You had no problems before, so what’s the deal?” Alexa asked.

“Brian having feelings for you is what changed. I don’t want you two dating. That’s not fair to me.” Sarah said.

“Sarah that’s fucked up. Why ruin someone else’s happiness? You’re allowed to move on so why can’t he?”

“Because it’s with you that’s why. You’re my best friend and he’s my ex-boyfriend. I will not allow you two to date, ever.”

Alexa glared at her before storming out of her house. In a way she knew where Sarah was coming from but that wasn’t fair to Brian. She refused to break it off with him and could only hope he felt the same way.
