You Were Meant for Me

Chapter Seven: Maybe the first step in finding happiness

*Ville’s POV*

The band meeting went smoothly and just as planned. We had the list of songs ready for tomorrow’s festival along with our passes and itinerary schedule for all bands playing. I could barely keep focused as my thoughts would drift to the day I had spent with Wynter. I hated that we had to end the night so abruptly, but I had to be at the meeting. Her pearly white smile kept flashing in my mind and her sweet laugh was on a nonstop loop. I glanced down at my hands and felt the same tingle from the first time she held my hand. This girl was really something else.

“Oletko kunnossa, Ville? Olet hiljaa tänä iltana.”

I nodded as Mige asked if I was okay, noticing I had been silent the whole night. He didn’t say anything else, just nodded. I couldn’t wait any longer, so I pulled my phone out to send Wynter a text. Heartbreaker Ville Valo was never the one to want to talk with a girl so soon after a date, but she was different. There was something about her that I craved, something that made me want to be around her. It had been so long since Jonna, since I felt anything at all for a woman. I wanted to be happy, I wanted to smile again, and maybe… just maybe Wynter was the first step in finding it. She was only going to be here for a little while, but that didn’t make a difference to me. I wanted her, and nothing was going to get in my way, especially something that was a few weeks away.

Spending the day with her was the most fun I'd had in a long time. I forgot what it was like to laugh and smile so much; what it was like to be with someone you actually enjoyed and wanted to spend time with. Wynter was so easy to get along with. The conversation never felt forced and I felt free to be myself, not just the singer of a famous band. Sometimes I felt like that was the only thing people noticed about me anymore.

When I finally got back to my tower, it was dark out and I happened to notice there was a note sticking out of the gate, probably from a fan. It was pretty common for them to leave little notes or tokens of their appreciation for me to find. I didn’t mind considering they were the reason we had so much success over the years.

I locked the doors and carelessly tossed my jacket on the floor before collapsing on the couch. I closed my eyes for a second, then quickly opened them as I realized I had forgotten to get the groceries I needed. Spending the day with Wynter was better than buying food, but with the festival tomorrow, I would be too tired to go after. It would just have to wait until the day after tomorrow.

My eyes were starting to get heavy and I felt myself slowly falling asleep. I sent Wynter one last text, telling her good night. I didn’t have the energy to climb the stairs to get to my room, so I covered my body with the blanket on the couch and closed my eyes, for once excited for the morning to come.

Again, its short. But I felt like we needed a little of Ville's POV and thinking. Sorry if there are any mistakes, I'm editing this on my phone because my laptop decided to be stupid af. Fyi, its hard typing and editing a story on a phone :/
