Love Has Perfect Timing

I woke up to the a loud clanging sound followed by some profanities.
I rolled over and noticed I was the only one who was still in bed.
I sat up and looked in the direction of the offensive sounds and saw Jess.
Her long dirty blonde hair was covered with flour. Amy's black hair
was untouched but her hands were covered.
"What's going on?" I grumbled through my morning voice.
"Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to wake up. It's almost
11am." Michelle stood with her arms crossed and was tapping her foot.
"WHAT?!" I hopped out of the bed in a hurry but then immediately
realized that there was no reason for me to rush to anything.
Michele laughed, "Chill, Caylee. You're not late for work or anything.
The rest of us woke up within the past hour. We were trying to stay
quiet to let you sleep in. We all thought it would be nice to make
breakfast but Jess forgot about the whole, 'Let's try not to wake up
Caylee thing.'" Michelle rolled her eyes playfully at Jess.
"I'm sorry! I wanted to make pancakes so I walked down to the store to
get these ingredients and then I couldn't open the flour so I tried
pulling the top part off of the bag but then it came off too fast and
flour went everywhere and I knocked the frying pan over in the
process." Jess said dramatically.
"That's okay. I shouldn't have slept in so late. And pancakes sound
good. I'll help sweep up the flour." I said as I walked over to the
kitchen to look for a broom.
We all worked together to quickly clean up the mess and we were back
on track. Surprisingly there was more than enough flour left in the
bag to make pancake batter.
As Jess began frying the pancakes, the rest of us piled out onto the
balcony to see the morning view of the city.

Amy sighed as she leaned on the railing. "It's so beautiful today."
Michelle just mumbled a 'mmhmm' as I nodded.
I couldn't believe I had slept that long and was having such a good
time doing nothing. I didn't realize how much I need to get away from
my routine.
I thought I was going to be the first person up every morning but I
guess my body needed some time to recuperate.
We all just stood there in silence looking over the balcony until we
heard Jess call for us that breakfast was ready.

We went in and sat down at the small table next to the couch. There
were just enough chairs for all of us.
As we started eating we all discussed the different things we wanted
to do while we're in LA.

"All that sounds good but what about today?" Michelle said as she
tucked her bleach blonde hair behind her ear and took another sip of
coffee.

"I don't know about you girls but I could use a day by the pool." Amy
said looking back and forth between us to see our reactions.

"That sounds wonderful!" Jess said as she shook some more flour out of her hair.

"Yeah, I'm up for that." I said as I finished my last piece of pancake.

"Looks like we're having a relaxing day at the pool. I need to get my
tan on!" Michelle said as she looked over her pale arms and legs.

We cleaned up after breakfast and got ready to lay out by the pool.
I grabbed my phone and headphones and sunblock and waited for the rest
of the ladies to be ready.
When we were all finally ready we took the elevator down to the pool.

I opened the door for the outdoor pool and was smacked in the face by the heat.
It had taken everyone so long to get ready that it was now at the
hottest part of the day.
It was surprisingly relaxing to feel the heat over my skin. There were
a few people laying out on chairs and a couple of kids in the pool but
it was not crowded.
We easily found four chairs together and placed our things down over them.
Jess, Amy and Michelle immediately lied down on the chairs. I decided
to go for a swim first then layout to dry off after.

I love to swim laps to decompress my mind. I have a membership at the
YWCA at home but it's been forever since I've gotten the chance to go.
I walked in the shallow end and had a clear lane by the wall. The kids
were in the shallow end but they were staying over on the other side
of it I'm assuming it's because their parents were over there.

I began swimming first with freestyle. As I swam back and forth it was
like my mind was being erased until all I was thinking about was my
steady rotating breathing.
I couldn't even tell how long I had been swimming. Was it 5 min or 30?
It was so nice to clear my mind. After a few more laps I decided to
take a break and go lay out on my chair to dry off.
As I made my way back to the chairs, I noticed everyone was kind of in
their own world. Amy was now laying on her stomach. Michelle was
reading a magazine and Jess looked like she had fallen asleep.
For a minute I was tempted to go shake off the water over them to mess
with them but I thought it better to just let them be. Besides,
they'll all get me back for it and it would be something a lot more
embarrassing.
I dabbed my skin with a towel before I laid back in my chair. I
slipped my earbuds in each ear and selected a playlist off of my
phone.
I laid back and closed my eyes as the music flooded through my ears. I
slowly began to fall asleep.
I woke up feeling refreshed. I turned to look at the other girls and
they were all out of their chairs. I sat up and looked over the pool
and saw them all hanging out in the deep end just hanging out by the
wall.
None of them had seen me wake up so I decided to try to splash them. I
slowly got up and walked around the back of the chairs until I was
behind them. I got a running start and jumped in over Amy's head and
grabbed my knees as I hit the water making a cannonball sized splash.
As i resurfaced I saw one shocked face and two angry faces looking
back at me.

I laughed."Ha, Sorry ladies. I couldn't resist."
Jess was no longer in shock she just laughed as she wiped the water
off of her face.
Amy didn't look angry any more but she still wasn't happy.
Michelle still looked mad, "Well, at least you're lightening up a
little bit. But I am so gonna get you back for that" she said as she
pushed her hands against the water in my direction to playfully splash
me back.
I just laughed it off and we started talking about last night.
"Hey, I still think Adam was into you. He was totally flirting with
you." Jess said to Michelle.
Michelle's eyes lit up. "He was seriously gorgeous. Just my type." She winked.
"Yeah, and I think we should seriously try to see those guys again.
Hannah said she wanted us to come to set." Jess said.
"Totally, I mean, I do think Matthew and Caylee would make an adorable
couple." Michelle wiggled her eyebrows at me.
I pursed my lips together. "That's not gonna happen but thanks."
"You're gonna die an old maid if someone doesn't intervene on your
behalf." Michelle said dramatically. "We are taking this into our
hands now." She finished with an evil laugh while rubbing her hands
together like she was a villain with an evil plan. Jess and Amy
laughed along.
I just rolled my eyes.
The conversation moved on to other topics and soon enough we were done
by the pool. We dried off and began to collect our things when all
over our phones buzzed one right after the other.
It was a group text from Hannah

Hey Ladies, It was great to see you last night. Sorry I had to rush
off. To make it up to you I' got you all signed up to come to set for
the day tomorrow. Let me know if you think that's something you'd be
interested in and I'll send you the address. :)

We all read it silently and then looked at each other.
"I'm in." Amy said quickly.
"Yeah, me too." Jess said looking over to Michelle and I.
"Hell yeah, I gotta get me some more of that yummy Adam." Michelle
wiggled as she said yummy.
"Gross!" I said in response to Michelle's slutty comment. "But, I'll come too."
Amy responded to Hannah for all of us letting her know we'd be happy to go.
Hannah quickly texted back the address and told us we could be there
for 8 AM if we wanted to full experience.

We made our way back to our room and took turns rinsing off from the pool.
We all sat around the TV discussing what we should do for the night.
"Does anybody want to go out?" Amy asked.
I thought about it for a second, "I know I'm always the buzz kill but
I think I'd prefer to stay in tonight. I mean, we're going to try be
there for 8 AM tomorrow so, I'd rather not have a late night. You all
can go out though. I'll be fine here."
"You have a point there." Jess agreed.
"Where's your sense of adventure and spontaneity!" Michelle responded.
"Don't you want to live it up out here?!" She looked with wide eyes at
the three of us.
"I'd be okay with going out." Amy gently said.
"OKAY?! You'd be okay with going out?! Well, don't make me force you!"
Michelle said put her hands up defensively.
Michelle liked to play everything up a little bit.
"Oh my gosh drama queen, I just don't think I'll be up for an early
morning if I go out tonight." I responded like a brat to play along.
"Honestly, I think that'd be best for me." Amy admitted.
"Oh no! See Caylee, your grandma germs are contagious. I'm assuming
you want to stay in too Jess?"
Jess scrunched her nose and nodded slowly.
"Uh, what a bunch of old ladies you are. Fine, we'll stay in and waste
the night away." Michelle said defeated as she feel back and slumped
onto the couch.
Jess grabbed a pillow and smacked Michelle over the head with it.
"Quit your fussing you little rugrat or I'll make you put soap in your
mouth!" Jess said like an old lady.
We all laughed at Michelle as she sat there like a two year old with a
pouty lip.
I had an idea. "I know what will cheer you up. Let's get ice cream and
we'll rent a movie." Michelle sat up quickly with a smile.
"That's better but I'm gonna have to get some wine too!" she said as
she got up and began to look for her shoes to put on.

Michelle and I went out and got a tub of ice cream, wine and rented a movie.
We got back to the room and dished out the ice cream and poured the wine.
We all sat around and relaxed while eating, drinking and watching the movie.
As the movie ended Amy and I cleaned up and then I got ready for bed.
Michelle and Jess were talking to each other on the balcony so I just
got in bed.
Amy snuck out to join them.

As I laid in bed I thought back over the events of the day. it was a
pretty uneventful day but one of the most relaxing days i have had for
as long as I could remember.
I dozed off wondering what a day on set was going to be like.
