Third Time's a Charm

Chapter 2

"Are you fucking kidding me?" I asked in disbelief as I stared at the room in front of me. It was bigger than our dorm room, and definitely bigger than my own bedroom at my apartment and bedroom back in California combined. "Are you fucking kidding me?" I asked again louder as I stared up at Will. He laughed as he guided me inside and shut the door behind us.

"What?" he asked with a grin as he walked further in and sat down on his couch.

"Look at this!" I exclaimed. He glanced around and then shrugged at what he saw.

"What about it?" he asked me, the grin never leaving his face.

"What about it? What about it?!" I exclaimed incredulously. "Look at it! You have your own king-sized bed! You have your own fucking living room set in your room!" I said as I pointed to his bed, couch, coffee table, and loveseat. "And just look at this fucking wardrobe! Does it lead to fucking Narnia?!" I exclaimed as I walked towards it and flung it open.

I expected the wardrobe to be a normal one, but as soon as I opened it, I was shocked. I heard Will shuffle behind me before I felt his large hands on my waist.

"No," he said as he leaned over to whisper in my ear. "But I think it's pretty cool too." I looked up at him with my jaw dropped and he had an amused expression on his face.

The wardrobe was actually his walk-in closet! I slowly walked into it, half-expecting snow, but instead came into the massive walk-in closet. It was probably the size of my room back in California with clothes and drawers covering the walls. There was a massive mirror straight across from me and I could see my shocked expression in it.

"Will!" I finally managed to say. He walked past me and leaned against the wall to the right of me that wasn't filled with clothes.

"Do you like it?" he asked with a smile and I nodded energetically.

"Are you a fan of C. S. Lewis?" I asked him.

"Isn't it obvious?" he asked back with a grin. I couldn't help but walk towards him and pull him down into a kiss. He was caught off guard, but quickly kissed me back.

"You have no idea how much of a turn on that is," I muttered breathlessly.

"C. S. Lewis is turn on for you?" he questioned as he pecked my lips with kisses.

"The fact that you're a fan of one of my favorite authors and that you made your wardrobe into this is a turn on," I said between kisses.

"If reading turns you on, then you should check out my library." I let out a groan from my throat as I pushed him against the wall behind him. We continued kissing - heavily, I might add - before we both heard a loud knock on his bedroom door. I pulled away from him as he spoke up.

"Yes?" he called out loud enough for whoever was on the other side of the door.

"Master William, I have your luggage," Gerald said.

Will sighed before he let go of me and only then did I notice that one of his hands was under my shirt and on top of my bra. I blushed and let him go. I smoothed out of my hair as we left his amazing closet and walked back into his room. He walked towards his door and I sat on his bed, bouncing slightly when I realized how comfy it was. Will opened the door and Gerald was standing there with Will and I's luggage. He walked in and placed it by the door before Will told him thank you and he left. When the door was shut, he turned to look at me, a devilish smirk on his face.

"Where were we?" he questioned. I couldn't stop my own grin as he walked towards me and picked me up to place me further onto his bed.

"Wait," I said as I put my hands on his shoulders.

"What?" he asked as he held himself up with his hands so he wouldn't crush me.

"What about your parents? Aren't we supposed to go meet with them later for dinner or something?"

"That's later," he said. "Plus, we're not going to have dinner with them tonight, because they're going to have dinner with some of their friends at their house."

"So what? We won't be disturbed for a while then?" I asked hopefully. He nodded.

"Did I also fail to mention that everyone tries their hardest not to disturb me when I have someone in my room with me?" he asked with a sly grin. I blushed but smile nonetheless.

"I'm not even gonna question that, but good," I muttered as I kissed him again.

Will was right about not having dinner with his parents tonight, so he gave me a tour of his house instead after our little intimate moment together. Since his place was massive, he only got to show me about a quarter of it. He did show me the library though. And damn, it was amazing. I felt like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, because from the ceiling to the floor, the library was full of books with a ladder to get to the highest parts. And Will was right about that too. The library was a turn on, so I couldn't help but pounce on him again.

And after that little intimate moment, Will and I had dinner together. Since it was only us two, we had our dinner upstairs in his room on his living room set. We watched TV while we ate and I hit his chest when I found out where his TV was. His TV came out of the fucking ceiling! Yeah, the ceiling! It came out somewhere near the foot of his bed and was adjustable, so we could move it and watch TV in his living room set to the left of his bed. I was somewhat annoyed at him for being so damn rich and having at all this nice stuff, but I was also amazed at all of it.

About an hour after Will and I had dinner, his parents came back. We greeted them and then had tea in the parlor. We made a bit of small talk about their dinner party before we all went to bed.

The next day, Will continued to show me around his place. Since it was daytime, he showed me the garden. And let me tell you, that was amazing as well. There were a lot of different flowers, most of them not bloomed yet because of the cold weather. Will then guided me to a greenhouse near the end of the garden before he opened the door. It was warm inside, a comfort compared to outside. I was surprised by what I saw.

There were so many rose bushes that as soon as we entered the greenhouse, the smell instantly filled my nose. I walked over to one of the many bushes and gently touched one of the bloomed petals.

"This is where I got you all those roses," Will said. I looked up at him in surprise.

"All those beautiful roses were from here?" I asked. He nodded at me.

"I had Gerald bring me a fresh batch every morning for you. I would have came here and gotten them myself, but I would have to wake up at the crack of the dawn to get here and back and still be there in time to pick you up in the morning," he said with a chuckle. I walked towards him and leaned up and kissed his cheek.

"Thank you," I said with a smile. "They were so beautiful that I hated to throw them out when they wilted and dried out."

"When it comes to that, I'll just have another fresh batch for you," he said with a smile. I kissed him on the lips this time. We pulled away when we heard someone clear their throat behind us. We turned and found Will's mother standing there in gardening clothes and gardening shears in her hand.

"Oh, hi, mum," Will said.

"Hello," I said quietly, a little embarrassed that she caught us kissing. She hummed at us before she started pruning away at a rose bush a few feet away from us.

"I see you're showing her around my greenhouse," she said simply.

"Yes, I was just telling her how all those fresh roses I got her were from here," Will explained. She hummed again.

"That's where all my precious roses have been disappearing to," she stated with a side glance at me. "All my roses were wasted for that?" she asked quietly more to herself than to us. I looked at her in shock. I looked up at Will and he spoke up.

"They weren't a waste, mum," he argued.

"I'm just saying, dear, my prized roses aren't just supposed to be given away like that," she said to try to defend what she said. Will narrowed his eyes at her before he grabbed my hand.

"I'm going to show Nicole around a bit more," he said as his mood changed and a small smile came over his face. When we were out of the greenhouse and out of earshot and the disapproving glance of his mother, I spoke up.

"What was that about?" I asked, a little offended about what she said.

"It's nothing. It's probably just because her roses are one of her prized possessions and she really looks after them, that's all," he explained. Okay, that was understandable, but did she have to word it like that? Like her prized roses were wasted on someone like me?

I didn't say anything more as Will wrapped his arms around me to keep me warm and continued to show me around the garden some more. He lastly showed me an extravagant white gazebo in the middle of the garden before he took me back inside.

"Where to now?" I asked as I leaned further into his arms.

"Hm," he hummed to himself before a smile came across his face. "Want to go for a swim?" he asked me. I stared up at him.

"Will, honey," I started slowly. "it's December and it's pretty much snowing already," I said as a few snowflakes started to fall as we entered the house. He laughed at what I said.

"Nicole, honey," he mocked me. "It's an indoor heated pool," he explained.

"Oh!" I said in understanding.

"So would you like to go for a swim then?" he asked. I tapped my chin as I thought about it. I haven't had a chance to go swimming for a while, even though Kingston Academy did have a pool.

"Sure," I said with a smile. "I don't have a bathing suit though."

"I'm sure we can work something out. If not, we can just go without anything." I looked up at him at that and he had a sly grin on his face.

"Nice try," I replied instead and his grin deflated slightly. "But I'm wearing something into the pool, whether you want me to or not." I stuck my tongue out at him and he sighed as he led me upstairs to his room.

"If you must," he said with a sigh.

"I must." I flashed him a grin.

I ended up borrowing a pair of swim trunks from him. And then I wore a bra with a tank top over it. We swam for about an hour and it felt great, to be honest. Since I bruised easily and I couldn't really do much sports, swimming was probably the one athletic thing I could do. I wasn't necessarily really good at it to be on the swim team or anything, but I managed just fine. Will, on the other hand, was good at sports, swimming included. I had asked halfway through our time swimming why he didn't join the swim team and he told me that while the rugby season and the swimming season weren't at the same time, he didn't want to overwork himself and chose to do rugby only. He also said he was better at rugby than competitive swimming. I couldn't really argue with that seeing as he was pretty good at rugby.

After our swim, Will wrapped me in a big, fluffy towel and guided me back upstairs to his room. I showered first while Will looked through his closet for something to wear to dinner tonight. After I showered and Will got into the shower, I started to get nervous. While I have talked to his parents for a bit, having dinner with them for a prolonged amount of time was pretty nerve wrecking, to be honest.

After I changed into my undergarments and the dress that I brought along with me and then did my makeup, I bit my lip nervously. And when Will got out of the shower with a towel wrapped low on his hips and saw the look on my face, he walked towards me and cupped my cheeks.

"What's wrong, love?" he asked me softly.

"I'm nervous," I admitted quietly.

"About what?"

"About dinner."

"You've spoken to my parents before."

"Yeah, I know, but this is different."

"It's not that different."

"Trust me, Will, it's different," I said. "This is the dinner where your parents officially meet me and see if they actually like me or not."

"They'll love you." I gave him a look as if to call him out on his bullshit. "Don't give me that look," he said with an eye roll as he let go of my face.

"I can't help it," I said with a shrug. I watched him as he turned and walked through the wardrobe into his walk-in closet. I followed him as I spoke up again. "What if they don't like me?"

"You've already asked me this," he said as he grabbed a pair of boxers and pulled it on under his towel. When it was securely on, he took the towel off and draped it over his shoulders as he rummaged through his closet.

"Yeah, but your reply that we'll elope into the sunset and never look back wasn't all that convincing." He chuckled as he remembered that he told me that just a few days ago.

"And what if I was serious about that?" he asked as he turned towards me with a small smirk. I gave him another look. "Quit giving me that look," he said with another eye roll. He turned back to his closet and grabbed a pair of black slacks. He pulled those on before he walked across the closet to the other end to grab an undershirt. "If they don't like you, like you said before, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Let's just enjoy these few moments of peace, remember?" He took the towel off his shoulders and tossed it towards me, completely surprising me. It draped over my head and I pulled it off as I scowled at him. He chuckled as he pulled the white tank top over his head and down his torso before he walked to the other end once more and grabbed a white pinstriped dress shirt.

"I remember," I replied finally with a sigh as I fiddled with the slightly damp towel in my hands. I said that right after we visited my father's grave.

"Then let's enjoy these few moments of peace, yes?" He turned to me as he pulled on the shirt and began buttoning the buttons. With another sigh, I nodded at him.

"Okay," I replied quietly. He finished buttoning up his shirt before he grabbed a black belt and put it on. As he tucked his shirt into his dress pants, I noticed that his hair was still wet and droplets were falling onto his crisp shirt, wetting it. I walked towards him after he was done getting dressed and wrapped the towel around his head, rubbing it through his hair to dry it at least a little bit. He leaned down lower so I could reach him and let me continue to do this. "I'm still nervous though," I said with a shrug. Will reached up and stopped my hands. He pulled the towel down onto his shoulders, his hair a wet, tangled mess. I couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the sight.

"Don't be nervous, because I'm gonna be there, alright?" he told me seriously. I eventually nodded and he pulled me onto his arms, my face leaning against the towel that covered his chest. "I'll be there with you the whole time," he said into my hair. I nodded again, comforted by his words.

Shortly after that, he led me downstairs to the parlor where his parents were already waiting. I greeted his parents politely before Gerald told us dinner was ready. He led us to the dining room, Will holding my hand the entire time. It helped calm me down.

As we got to the table, Will let go of my hand to pull out my chair for me. I gladly took it with a thank you and glanced over at his parents. Will's father pulled out his wife's chair for her and I couldn't help but smile at that. When we all seated and settled, Will's mother spoke up.

"So," she started. "you're from America?" she asked me to make small talk as we waited for dinner to be served.

"Yes, I am. I'm from California," I told her. She hummed as she readjusted her napkin on her lap.

"You're also William's roommate at school?" she asked when she finished readjusting her napkin and looked back up at me.

"Yes, I am."

"Did you get into Kingston Academy on scholarship or...?" she trailed off. I stared at her in slight surprise. What was that supposed to mean?

"Mum!" Will exclaimed.

"I didn't get in Kingston Academy on scholarship," I replied instead. "My mom actually paid for my education." She hummed at me again.

"I wasn't expecting that. I just thought that maybe you couldn't afford it," she continued. I was starting to get irritated at her now.

"I can pay for school just fine," I said through slightly gritted teeth instead of completely telling her off.

"I'm just saying that Kingston Academy is expensive is all," she said as she glanced at her perfectly manicured nails. I looked up at Will and he spoke up.

"Anyway," he started as he quickly changed the subject. "Nicole is actually really smart," he said. I looked at him again as if to say, 'Really? That's the best you could come up with?'.

"Really now?" she asked without much interest. Will nodded at her. "How's Annabella?" she asked suddenly. I was caught off guard by the sudden change of topic, especially since it was about Annabella.

"S-she's doing fine," Will said with a slight stutter, also surprised by the subject change.

"You should bring her around sometime. We miss her." She reached over and placed her hand over her husband's hand that was resting on the table. He had been silent this whole time and still didn't bother to add anything to the conversation even now.

"Mum," Will started. "we're not together anymore," he said as if she didn't already know.

"Oh, I know that, dearie. But we just miss her is all. You two grew up together and were together for so long, I can't help but miss seeing her around here," she explained. Before Will or I could say anything to that, Gerald and a maid began to serve our dinner.

After dinner - a very awkward and slightly frustrating dinner - Will and I retreated up to his room for the night. His father had a bit of paperwork to do and his mother was tired, so we didn't have tea in the parlor after dinner.

"Your parents hate me," I said when we got back to his room.

"No, they don't," Will argued as he shut the door behind us.

"No, I'm pretty sure they do. Especially your mom."

"Yeah, right."

"Yeah, I am right! I can see it in her eyes!" I exclaimed as I unceremoniously sat on his bed. Will sat next to me as I sighed deeply. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close to him.

"No, you aren't. I'm sure it's just because she doesn't know you well."

"And I don't think she wants to know me. I can list off so many reasons why she doesn't like me."

"Like what?"

"I'm American and not English, so I'm not 'proper'," I started as I air quoted. During dinner, because I was so nervous and shaking slightly, I accidentally knocked over my water glass. Will said it was fine and as Gerald cleaned it up quickly, I swear I heard Will's mother mutter saying how I had no manners and was careless. "Apparently, if I'm not rich I can't be with you." Also throughout the dinner, she made stabs about me not being rich or something and how I only got by just enough to go to Kingston Academy. I didn't want to go right out and tell her off that I was actually well off and for her to get angry at me, so I kept my mouth shut about it. "And to put it simply, I'm not Annabella!" I threw my hands up in the air in annoyance. If Will's mother wasn't critiquing every little thing I said or did, she would bring up Annabella at every chance she got.

"Shh..." Will tried to shush.

"Don't shush me!" I said as I pushed him off the bed. He fell onto the floor with a loud thud. He quickly picked himself up and brushed off his clothes.

"Okay, just because your frustrated at my mum doesn't mean you can take it out on me!" he chided me.

"Sorry," I muttered quietly. He cleared his throat as he carefully took his spot next to me once again. He wrapped his arms around me again and I leaned into him as I rested my head against his shoulder.

"How could my mom possibly hate you when I'm so completely in love with you?" he asked me and I could just hear his grin. I rolled my eyes at his reasoning, but I couldn't help the small smile from making its way onto my face.

"Then let's enjoy these few moments of peace?" I asked with a defeated sigh. I felt him nod and he kissed the top of my head.

And here's the chapter!
So one down side to having a sequel or more installments to a story is that when trying to get more readers for the other installments, readers usually have to read the first installment, so it's hard to get those readers unless they read it. That was one negative aspect as to why I didn't get much readers for the second installment, amongst other reasons. But regardless, I will be posting this completed story.
So to the readers who make it here, comment, subscribe, and recommend! Please let me know what you think! =)
