The Sapphire Slave

In Ridia, slaves are the most important property a person can have; each slave, denoted with a different precious gem, holds different responsibilities and specialties. As a sapphire slave who fights in the arena, Azra holds all the glory, and his master loves him for it; every week, the merchant lord Baltsaros throws extravagant and enormous galas in his slave's honor. But in wealth and glory come unwanted dangers: after his master is assassinated, Azra stands accused, and the kind, jolly facade Baltsaros wore falls to bits as he finds himself in the midst of a grand political scheme against the king.

With the help of an estranged oracle and twin bounty hunters, Azra travels across the desert to uncover the secrets of the king and follow through with the will of the gods: avenge the merchant lord, and usurp the throne.
