The Sun Drew Blood

kitty

Kitty took her own life at the top of the water tower as the sun set across the horizon out west. I knew it happened when the sky turned orange and the sun drew the clouds red with her blood. Like an open wound, the ripples across the blue broke me down as I stared. I knew it was my fault, I knew I could have saved her and I didn't, I knew, I knew, I knew. It was too late and she was gone; the world folded in on itself and it was all my fault. No matter how hard I fought it, I couldn't change reality.
