A World Away

Unyielding to beliefs of fantasy and magic, Larissa Moran is more focused upon keeping her family together than delving into the fantastically vivid imagination of her younger sister. While her frequently absent parents become more and more despondent with one another and the life they’ve become stuck in, Moran is forced to balance college while raising her younger sisters and keeping a part-time job; putting forth what her parents neglect to provide.

Sacrifices are made, yet she is more than willing to give up everything to ensure her siblings have a healthy upbringing and in doing so she ventures into a curious –and somewhat foreboding- magic shop to acquire the perfect gift for her sister’s thirteenth birthday.

Without an ounce of belief that magic actually exists she navigates the shop, as if it were any other simple store, unaware that even the slightest brush against enchantment can hold world-shifting consequences.

And that everything she holds dear can very easily be ripped away by those with selfish hearts.
