Consequences

after

Death was inevitable. Whether or not it was an accident or on purpose, there was no way to prevent it from happening. It’s not like she meant for it to happen but she was just so sick of being abused that there was no way to avoid it.

She watched the blood drip out onto the floor after she had stabbed him. She had only been defending herself, but the police wouldn’t see it that way. She heard the sirens in the distance but was unable to move. She was frozen in fear and couldn’t believe what she had done.

“Drop the weapon now and put your hands behind your back!” She heard the police officer yell as he broke down the door to the house. She dropped the knife and surrendered. This wasn’t her first rodeo so she knew what to do by now.

With one last look at the dead body on the ground, they took her to the police car in cuffs. She could only hope that this time around, things would be different.
