New Classic

(Next day Ryan’s pov)
Ryan was grabbing lunch and as he walked to his table on the second floor l, Jessie was walking past him
“Hey jess-“
“No” she said simply and kept walking until she was sitting with Gabriella.
Ryan sighed sadly and walked to his table. Sharpay was looking at herself in her compact mirror.
“Ryan does this look like a pimple?” Sharpay asked.
“Who cares” Ryan grumbled as he picked at his food with his fork

“What’s your problem?” She asked looking at him

“Jessie broke up with me because of you! She won’t even talk to me! She had to of heard what I said about her in the auditorium because she dumped me and dropped out of the musical and I’ve got you to thank for that” Ryan said angrily. Sharpay rolled her eyes

“Oh it was just one girl. You’re 17 you’ll find another one maybe a richer one and anyways with her out of the musical we’ll get the lead roles. That’s what we want Ryan!” Sharpay said with annoyance

“No that’s what you want!” Ryan said angrily and stormed off.

(My POV) I heard Ryan y’all at Sharpay making me look up and watch him storm off.
I went to the art room after lunch...

I was sitting at my desk drawing with pastels when Lidia and a group of others walked up
“Were jerks” she said rubbing the side of her arm
“Huh?” I asked raising a brow
“I recorded Ryan out of context to make it sound like that’s how he truly felt...but I know that it’s not because he’s in my music class and he never shuts up about you...how beautiful you are, funny, short tempered, loyal he said a lot of good things about you...but when we saw how good your art was we just wanted to give you a push in our direction... we’re so sorry...that was so wrong of us” Lidia said looking down.

“It doesn’t matter.. Ryan is always going to listen to what Sharpay orders him to do. It’s done” I said turning back to my art piece
“It’s not done. Ryan quit the musical today” Lidia said. I turned around with wide eyes
“What?” I asked
“He exploded on Sharpay for you two breaking up and said he didn’t want to be in the musical anymore and stormed off” Lidia said with raised brows.

“I can’t do it again..I’ve been broken before and I just don’t have the strength to be broken again” I said and went back to my art.
“We tried” Lidia said and they all went back to their seats

(Later That night)
I went to the tree house and turned on the Halloween lights that were in there and just sat and cried. I missed ryan so bad... but I didn’t know if I could trust him...

Suddenly I heard the door to the bottom opening and low and behold Ryan was here
“Your mon said you went out...I had to see if you just came here” Ryan said sitting in front of me now.

“Ryan-“
“I didn’t mean any of those things I said to Sharpay. I only said that to her because I was tired of her always hounding me to break up with you so i told her okay to shut her up but I was never going to break up with you! And of course I’d rather do the musical with you as a love interest than my sister...all the feelings would be true for you” Ryan said
“You sounded serious when you were telling her I’m just some girl and that I don’t mean anything” I said tucking my knees to my chest sadly
“You mean everything to me Jess” Ryan said sitting next to me. Ryan picked up my guitar and a pic and looked at me
“Listen to me Jess, because this is for you” Ryan said and began to play

Ryan finished the song and gently grabbed my Gabs setting the guitar down

“Jess I’m falling in love with you and I don’t want to stop this feeling...I know it’s scary but..but if we face it together I know we’ll come out better than ever...you just have to trust me...I’m not gonna let anybody disrespect you..especially my sister...” Ryan said kissing my hand. I smiled at him and leaned in to kiss him. He happily kissed back and after a slight make out session I hugged Ryan and he went home...
