So the art gallery was happening and thank god for Ryan because I had no professionally nice clothes so he surprised me with a blouse and some actual dress pants and flats. He was so sweet. I also wore my sequin hat. I was standing by my art piece with a cup of coffee. The judges were looking at the photograph.
“Can you tell us more about this photo Miss Montez?” One of the judges asked. I looked at the clock.

“Of course. The theme was winter wonderland and I wanted to choose something that means something to me. In this picture I see a girl, who loves to ice skate but also loves to sing her heart out. Winter is a magical time. When the world is quiet upon snowfall which creates the perfect audience for a beautiful song from the heart and-“
I was cut off by the lights being shut off in the cafeteria and since the blinds covered the windows, it was dark as all hell.
“Everyone since we can’t get the lights back on we’re gonna take a break so if everyone wants to exit in an orderly fashion-“
I ha already slipped out the door and ran to change in another outfit Ryan picked out to match his for our performance. Although I hated matching it was for a good cause. I was running like my life depended on it and as I got in the auditorium

“IM HERE!” I yelled but yelled as I tripped and fell going up the stairs. Sharpay laughed
“Jess are you okay?”
Ryan asked running up and helping me up
“I don’t think I like heels very much” I groaned as he helped me up
“Well...,alright...you just made it. You didn’t injure yourself did you?” Ms Darbus said as I tossed my book-bag on the ground in front of the stage and fixed my hair
“No I’m okay I can sing” I ssid fixing my hat. Ms Darbus looked from Ryan to me
“You’re matching. I like it. Make your preparations and do be hasty about it I have other call backs” Ms Darbus said going to sit down. Sharpay growled and stomped to a seat
“Oh my god my stomach is eating itself I’m so nervous” I said holding my stomach
“You’re gonna do great. We’re gonna sing the song that we chose for us. We rehearsed there’s no reason you’ll forget.. remember when you were singing to me in the tree house... how you felt so comfortable with me” Ryan said holding my hands
“Yes..I didn’t feel nervous at all when it’s just you and me” I said blushing
“Just focus on me Jess. I know your scared but just keep your eyes on me and I know you’ll be fine” Ryan said kissing my lips quickly.
“Are you sure we rehearsed the dancing enough?!” I said groaning.
“I’m not leaving your side. We’ll be okay just follow my lead. I’ve got you” Ryan said giving me butterflies and a whole new confidence.
“Okay lets do this” I said smiling as he pressed the play button on the track. The music began to play and Ryan went to one side of the stage unseen and I went to the other unseen. The music began to play and Ryan walked out

Ryan and I finished with him spinning me into his chest as we were breathless. Ms Darbus stood up and clapped as Sharpay clapped unenthusiasticly
“That was amazing! I felt the emotion in the song! Bravo!” She said clapping
“I feel like I’m gonna faint” I whispered still holding my smile
“I’ve got you don’t worry” Ryan said smiling as he painted too.
So we went back stage and I jumped up and hugged Ryan as he spun me
“Even if we don’t get chosen I had Kelsey record that so I can use it for college!” I said happily
“You shooting for Juliarts?” Ryan asked smiling
“Of course they have art school and music there!” I said as we grabbed some water. Sharpay stormed up to me looking angry
“You...” she said trying to sound scary
“My name is Jess I thought we established that” I said giggling
“You...were really really good...congrats” Sharpay chokes out crossing her arms
“Well thank you Sharpay. And whoever they choose, we both did great and you should be proud of yourself for being so talented” I said holding my fist up. She stared at it confused
“You’ve seriously never fist pumped?” I said and she nodded and fist pumped me making me laugh
“It’s so good seeing you two getting along” Ryan said hugging us both bringing us closer

“Final call for Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez!” Ms Darbus said looking around

“Wait ms Darbus!” Troy yelled running in still wearing his basketball uniform
“We’re here!” Gabriella said running in still wearing her lab coat
“I called your name. Twice” Ms Darbus said holding up two fingers
“Oh please Ms Darbus please. Please!” Gabriella said folding her hands in a begging way
“Rules are rules!” Ms Darbus said but I stood up
“But Ms Darbus they brought you an audience!” I yelled and she looked up seeing everyone from the basketball game , Decathlon and art show were crowding into the auditorium. Ryan’s and Sharpays jaws dropped
“Jess get up we have an opportunity to sing our songs again!” Sharpay barked at me in a whisper
“I’m going I’m going” I said getting up and going to the stage
“We’d be happy to do our songs for the audience again Miss Darbus” Sharpay said smiling at the crowd
“I’m gonna throw up I’ve never seen so many people” I said blushing
“I..don’t know what’s going on..but in any case it’s far too late and we haven’t got a pianist” Miss Darbus said
“That’s show bizz” Ryan said smiling but I elbowed his side making him hunch over in pain

“We can sing without a pianist!” Troy said but Kelsey ran up
“Pianist here Miss Darbus!” Kelsey ssid But Sharpay took a step forward angrily
“You really don’t want to do that” Sharpay said trying to sound scary
“Oh yes.. I really do” Kelsey said and ran to the piano
“Sharpay we need to work on you actually being scary when you threaten people cuz you’re like a fluffy bunny with a switch blade right now” I said laughing. Sharpay squeaked in offense and stormed off.
“If we go sit down are you gonna beat me up?” Ryan asked with a smirk
“As long as you don’t act like your sister” I said laughing
“Hey I am a little bit of a drama queen and I do like the spotlight” Ryan said as we sat down.
“Yeah but too much spotlight will blind you yknow?” I asked as I kissed his cheek. He smiled
“I can agree” he said as we sat back and I put my head on his shoulder with his arm around me.
“Everybody off the stage!” Kelsey yelled and as Kelsey began to play music I noticed Gabriella began to choke
“Oh no..everybody is staring at her, she’s getting nervous” Ryan said but Troy ran to her and said something and Gabriella smiled
“I think she’s gonna be okay..she just needed to do what I did” I said smiling
“And What was that?” Ryan asked
“When I looked to you...it felt like the first time we sang together...all the nervousness washed away when I looked in your eyes” I said smiling. He smiled back and kissed me
“I’m so glad I met you” Ryan said as I leaned my head into his shoulder and he kissed my forehead as he music began to play again.
