In the wake of the wealthy philanthropist and his company Lucid Entertainment’s latest creation known to the world as the V.R.U (virtual reality Unit); a chip embedded either at the temple of a person’s head or the back of the neck, the gaming community has endorsed this product full-heartedly with gamers of young and old attending the reveal ceremony in their droves with queues spreading all the way into the streets. This story follows the bond of friendship and the journey of discovery shared by Christian and Ellios; the year is 2058 an era known for its technological advancements hence the realization of infinitely open worlds for gamers to access via their V.R.U and seamless global connectivity, allowing any gamer to play any game at any place with anyone. Furthermore the V.R.U has two main functions once engaged, the first is living mode; a simulated reflection of life without the existence of famine, disease or poverty, so enticing and realistic that some choose to spend most of their time in this mode. Again with seamless transition a gamer can access the secondary function which is gaming itself, based on the gamer's preference he/she is able to access the plethora of gaming titles presented by Lucid Entertainment.
Having received their chips as Beta testers Christian and Ellios embark on this revolutionary concept of a journey, experiencing traditional mechanics such as character creation and customization the duo finalize the setup phase, unfortunately a seed of jealousy is sowed within Ellios when it is discovered that Christian was instead bestowed a mysterious golden chip as opposed to Ellios’ silver counterpart. To thicken the plot, the duo are sent a private message from Lucid Entertainment inviting them to a new game available to the few known as Infinity an MMORPG based game. Accepting this request the duo enter the game where they and the other invited gamers are given audience by the very same wealthy philanthropist dubbed by the masses as ‘The Creator’.
In conclusion nothing is as it seems, the duo embark on their ad hoc journey discovering lies enveloped in more lies, who is ‘The Creator’?
