Summer Camp

I'm Such A Loser!

Here it goes. I took a deep breath, and tried to move forward but I couldn’t. Okay Ashley, breath. You can do it. Just go up to Joe and ask him. But what if he says no? What would I do then? Oh Ashley, get a hold of yourself. He’s just a boy… A really hot boy who is totally funny, and charming. I don’t think this whole asking him out thing is going to work.

“Hey Ashley!” Joe called to me.

I snapped out of it, and waved to him.

“What’s up?” He asked me as he jogged up to me.

“Uh, nothing.” I said trying to stall so I could think of how to ask him.

“You sure?” He asked.

“We-.”I was cut off by Catherine who was calling Joe to get something done.

He sighed. “I have to go, but let’s talk later.”

“Okay, bye Joe.” And with that he left.

Why didn’t I ask him?!

---

“You guys I am the biggest loser on this earth!” I said, as I walked into mine and Mel’s cabin and flopped down on the couch.

“Why?” They both asked.

“I went to go ask Joe out to the dance, but I can’t.”

“Oh…” Amber said.

“Ash, why couldn’t you ask him out?” Mel said coming to comfort me.

“Well, I felt like I couldn’t move or speak. It was horrible.”

“Well the dance is still a couple weeks away. You have time.” Amber said.

“Okay…” I smiled. “Now I have to just figure out how to ask him.”

“Why don’t you say something like “Joe I was wondering if you would like to go to the dance with me?” or something.” I suggested.

“That’s so simple though.”

“That’s because it’s supposed to be simple Ash!” Amber said to me.

“Fine.” I rolled my eyes.

“Okay let’s practice. I’ll be Joe and you be you.” Mel said.

“But I’m always me!” I jokingly complained.

“Ash, get with the program, come on.” Amber said laughing.

“So, Ashley… What’s up?” I said in a man voice.

She started laughing.

“Ashley!” I whined.

“Sorry, it’s just too funny!” She said trying to stop laughing.

“Fine, I’ll talk normally.” I rolled my eyes.

“So, Ashley… what are you up too?” I asked starting her conversation she’s going to be having with Joe.

“Nothing, you?” She responded.

“You know, just hanging out.”

“Joe,” I smiled at calling Mel Joe. “I was wondering… Would you like to go to the dance with me?”

“Yes, I would.”

“See, it’s that easy.” Amber said.

“Well, I hope so.”
