2 Days in London: A London Itinerary for First-Timers

Are you planning a short visit to London and not sure what to see? I’ve created the perfect two days in London itinerary so you can have some idea of things you need to know to plan the perfect trip.

London has plenty of gems to see and I’m going to share some of them with you.

We booked a service apartment in advance in London and checked into our serviced apartment (Presidential Marylebone Mayfair) in the morning and got settled. We drank a cup of coffee and stayed awake so we could adjust to the time change as quickly as possible. We booked a taxi with the help of the apartment's staff and We started our journey. We were so excited to explore London.

Oxford Street:
We had started our first day in London at the famous Oxford Street. If you also want to start your day here fairly early because as time goes on it will get considerably busier.

It was so nice and sharp in the morning and I was able to do some high street shopping without having to queue hours for a changing room.
Timings: Most shops are open until 8 pm
Distance: 0.7 miles away from the Presidential Marylebone Mayfair

Design Museum, Kensington:

It has many exhibitions that happen from time to time at the Design Museum. We spent half an hour there.

Entry Fee: The museum is free to enter, tickets can be bought for the temporary exhibitions.

Buckingham Palace:
Buckingham Palace is the official residence of Queen Victoria, and it’s popular for the Changing the Guard ceremony, one of the perfect things to see in London, England, in 2 days.

Day 2:

Westminster‌ ‌Abbey:‌ ‌

Westminster‌ ‌Abbey‌ ‌is‌ ‌the‌ ‌site‌ ‌of‌ e‌ ‌royal‌ ‌weddings ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌funeral‌ ‌of‌ ‌Princess‌ ‌Diana.‌ ‌
Hundreds‌ ‌of‌ ‌people‌ ‌are‌ ‌buried‌ ‌in‌ ‌tombs‌ ‌and‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌floor‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌Abbey.‌ ‌An‌ ‌audio‌ ‌guide‌ ‌

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre

Continue your walk along the River Thames to the Globe Theater. Globe Theater: Globe Theatre hosts numerous performances. I took the 5 pm show there, it was a nice tour.

Timing: The hours for the Globe Theatre tours are:
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Mondays)
9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Tuesday to Saturday)
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Sundays)

Distance: 4.3 miles away from the Presidential Marylebone Mayfair

Sky Garden:

It is one of the tallest buildings in London. We found it was the best view of London.

You need to book your visit online in advance (do so on the Sky Garden website).

Most importantly, tickets are usually fully booked up to 2 weeks before.
Cost: Free
Hours: Monday through Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am – 9:00 pm
