Jealous Orchard

"You came over here to tell me you're not going to be here this weekend, because you'll be with Morgan Lee? Morgan Lee? I didn't even think you two were friends."

Susan was sitting on her couch with blanket wrapped around her. She looked like crap with all her tissues around her and her hair was a mess. I had waited two days to tell Susan because I didn't want her to blow up at me, but I guess waiting didn't work to well.

"It's just weekend trip, and Adam is going, and you're sick anyways, so it's not like we had anything planned. And Morgan and I are friends."

"That's just a lie, Brendon. She's only doing this to get back at me. She's trying to steal you from me," Susan said gripping my arm.

"I can hardly believe that she's trying to steal me from you. Morgan isn't that kind of girl."

"That's what everything thinks. Oh Morgan Lee the hippie girl that can't do anything wrong in this world. She's a bitch."

"Susan! She's my friend, I don't talk about your friends like that," I said shocked that she would call someone she didn't know a bitch.

"Because there is no need to. Brendon, why don't you believe me? She's just being friends with you to get to me," she said leaning in closer to me.

I wasn't sure if I was leaning away because she was sick or because she was being a complete bitch.

"Are you saying any of my friends that I make now that are girls are trying to steal me from you?"

"No, just Morgan, ugh and you're going with Taylor. They're even worse together."

I stood up and started to make my way toward the front door.

"Tell me when you're going to stop being so judgmental. I'll be away for the weekend, so don't bother calling."

"So did you two break up?" Adam asked as I watched him pack.

"I don't think so, I just left."

"You should see what happens this weekend and if something goes down with Morgan break up with her."

"Nothing is going down, we're just going to be friends. I kind of like it better that way. It's nice to have her as friend. She's different."

"You're going to just stay friends with her?" he asked while he stopped folding to stare at me.

"Yeah, I mean she's not looking at me as a love interest, just a friend."

"Well, then I'm glad you're happy man."

He gave me a half smile and continued folding.

"Adam is going?"

"Yes, mom. I've told you that twenty times."

"I don't know if I want you going, and on such short notice, leaving tomorrow night?"

"Mom, you know I'm not going to do anything bad. I'll be back Monday night, and I'm not missing any work."

"You can go if you tell me one thing."

"Okay," I said hesitant.

"Do you like Morgan?"

"She's my friend. That's it. I'm with Susan remember?"

"I know I just remember you and Adam talking about her, and then when I talked her well, it doesn't matter. You just be save."

"You're not going to tell me what she said to you?"

My mom might look like a nice woman but she has her times when she could be cruel.

"No, this is our trade off. I'll let you go, but I get to keep what she said to myself."

"Fine, mom. Do you have a pipe I can borrow?" I asked sarcastically.

"Don't push it, Brendon," she warned as I laughed at her expression.

"Hello?"

"Bren? I need a favor from you."

"Morgan?"

"Yeah. Are you done packing?"

I was just folding up my last shirt.

"Yes."

"Will you come have dinner with my family tonight?"

"Isn't your mom's boss coming over?" I asked wondering why she wanted me there.

"Yeah and I didn't realize that he was bring his creepy son, that tried to feel me up under the table," she said. I could almost hear her shudder.

"Umm, sure what should I wear?"

"Anything but jeans. You don't know how much I love your right now."

"Don't mention it."

"And one more thing."

"Yeah?"

"Can you be ready in ten minutes?"

I laughed at how hesitant she was to ask.

"Yeah, but do you want me to drive over?"

"No, I'm already out the door to pick you up, See ya!"

She hung up on me while I sat there for a few seconds. But I snapped out of it and went to my closet.

"MOM!"

"Thank you so much!" Morgan was at the bottom of my stairs as I started to walk down them.

I smiled and chucked my bag down to her.

"You so totally owe me."

"I do. I promise I'll do whatever you want, just after this dinner."

I couldn't help but notice that she was wearing a dress that looked like it was made out of silk, but of course it had a bleeding tie dye pattern, so it was dark purple at the top and gradually an light purple almost white at the bottom. This pattern pretty much forced me to check her out.

"Okay, let me just say goodbye to my, hey mom," I said once I saw her standing by the door with my dad.

"I'll see you guys Monday," I said giving my mom a hug, and my dad a head nod.

My dad gave me a thumbs up but my mom quickly smacked him.

"I'm sorry we're in a rush, but it was very nice meeting you Mr. Urie," Morgan had my bag slug on her back as she started walking out the door.

"It was very nice meeting you too, Morgan."

I had closed the door before they could say anything else to her.

"I love you!" she said once she quickly pulled out of the my driveway.

"I think you've told me that already."

"I know, but I don't think I would last this dinner if you weren't there. And my dad said that Taylor couldn't come because we make to much noise."

I had a hard time following what she was saying because one, she was talking so fast, and two her driving was scaring the hell out of me.

"Can you slow down?" she looked at her speed and quickly let off the gas.

"Sorry, I guess I'm a reckless driver. I barely passed Driver's ed." I had to laugh.

"Who could you not pass?"

"They kept using the term lead foot."

"Of all the people, you'd be the last one I'd think to have lead foot." I said once she quickly swerved into her drive way.

"Just leave your bag in here, we'll leave right after dinner." she quickly got out of car, and that's when I noticed she had no shoes on.

"You have to be the strangest girl I know."

She turned around and stared at me.

"You're not so normal yourself, Bren."

This kid was a creep. I couldn't help but feel like I was sitting across from a pervert. Even though her mother, and father lied about me being her boyfriend, he still had the balls to stare at her. Morgan tried to shield herself from his gaze either turning in a different direction as if she was listening to whoever was talking or, she would pretend to scratch her arm, but that just lead to red lines forming up and down her arm.

"So Morgan, how long have you and Brendon been dating?" Mrs. Otto, the bosses wife asked.

"Umm," she turned toward me with slightly wide eyes." Two months I think."

"Yeah," I could tell she had no idea where to go with this. "One day, I finally got up the courage to say hello, and we've been together ever since." I placed my hand on top of hers which laid on the table.

I wrapped my fingers around hers, and hers squeezed against mine. She gave me a smile as Mrs. Otto cooed at us.

"Yeah, it's quite nice to have Brendon around here," Morgan's dad said.

Tonight was the first time I've met him, and already their family was lying saying I was her boyfriend.

"I hope we didn't make you uncomfortable, Brendon. But their son is one major creep, so we needed a boyfriend for Morgan," her father said clapping his hand onto my back.

Morgan was upstairs changing out of her dress into her pajamas.

"I noticed, I don't know how someone could a creep like that," I said shaking my head.

"Yeah, but Morgan is just tolerant enough to actually still sit through the dinners."

"Okay, I'm ready."

Morgan was walking down the stairs in sweat pants that had the dancing grateful dead bears, and a white camisole.

"Bye, Mommy. Bye Daddy." She kissed them both goodbye before she turned toward me.

I had already switch into cargo shorts, and a regular t-shirt.

"Yeah," I said taking her bag from her, as she headed toward the door.

"You two drive save now! And just call me when you get there!" Her mom yelled when we were getting into the car.

"Are you ready for the best two hours of your life?" she asked turning toward me as we sat in her driveway.

I gave her a questioning look and she just smiled. She turned on the car and pulled out of her driveway and started down the street. She stopped at the stop sign and she sat there. There was no one around us, and she started messing with the dials until she turned on the CD player. Motley Crue started pouring out of the speakers, and she kept turning it up as she tried to headband. I was almost afraid to try to turn it down because her hand was on the nob, and I didn't want to get whacked with her long hair.

But we sat there for the whole time the first song played until she turned it off. She smoothed down her hair and pressed eject from the CD player, and I watched her replace it with The Beach Boys CD. God only knows came softly through the speakers.

"Sorry, it's a tradition with Taylor and I, but you didn't really act like Taylor."

"I'm sorry, I was kind of scared."

"Oh, don't be! I promise you won't here Motley Crue again. We unless you drive up with me again."

"Does that mean I'll be invited again."

"Geez, Bren. You're just like my BFF," she said smiling, and finally pressing on the gas pedal.

"Are you okay?"

"I totally just drank two red bulls when I was changing," she said giving a face that I couldn't help but laugh at.

"So you sure you don't want me to drive?"

"No, because then I'd fall asleep and you wouldn't know how to get there."

"Okay, so does that mean I can fall asleep?"

"Yeah, I'll just make you swallow a Roofie, and then I'll undress you, take pictures of you in weird poses, and sell them online."

"Just get my good side, " I said closing my eyes.

"You're going to make me talk your sleeping body?"

"I'm not making you."

"Fine, go to sleep, and I'll say the dirtiest things possible, but you won't be sleeping, and actually listening, and then we can never be friends because you would make it awkward."

"Okay, I'll stay up and talk with you."

"What's your favorite color?" she asked as we rode down the highway. on a Friday night it wasn't as busy as you would think.

"Probably red. What about you?"

"Green."

"I honestly would have never guessed," said looking at her.

"What would you have guessed?" she asked. The Redbulls were starting to wear off, and she was becoming herself again.

"I would have guessed you'd come with the smart ass remark, about how you treat all the colors equally and you like them all the same."

She gasped and shoved me a little.

"You're so lucky you're cute, Bren. Or I'd do some serious damage to you."

I stared at her with a smile, but her eyes were fixated on the road. And I couldn't help but think she thought I was cute.

umm, summer school sucks, and that's why I haven't been updating like my crazy self.
Even though I love all the people that comment me every time I update, I'm still sad that no one else does.

=( Comments, make me write about Brendon and Morgan, instead of the Civil War.
Just think about it.

P.S. Sorry for all the breaks, I know I usually do them, but this one had a lot, but I just wanted to get it moving along.
