Headbands and Pleated Skirts

"Mom, please?" I had just got home and was already bombarding my mother about the party.

"I am not sure honey. We have to wait until your father gets home."

"Oh come on, don't you trust me?"

"Of course we trust you! It's the other children we don't trust." Ugh, she used that line again. If I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I would be one rich teenager.

"Oh mom, I would be super careful! You know me! Please let me go to this party."

"Oh, I don't know."

"If you say yes, dad will have to agree."

She seemed to ponder on this for a little while, and finally she declared, "Fine, you may go."

"EEP!! Really?" She nods. "Yay! OMG, thank you mommy!"

"We will talk about rules and curfews when your father comes home."

As I was running to my room, the phone rang. I ignored it and sat down at my computer. After I had signed in, I checked to see if Jessica was online. Thankfully she was, and I clicked on her name.

xxyoungloverxx: ooh, I love good news.

xGinaBabe3x: Well, I can go to Dan's party!

xxyoungloverxx: OMG! no way!

xGinaBabe3x: yes way! my mom finally gave in.

xGinaBabe3x: that's a great idea. I would have to ask my parents, but I think we can go together. That would be so much fun!

Yay! I could not wait for the party on Friday. Only one more day! I needed to tell Dan that I could go. Fortunately, he was online as well. I was just about to click his name, when a chat convo popped onto my screen. He had instant messaged me first!

dannyboy46: I was wondering if you were going to be able to make it to my party.

xGinaBabe3x: good news, I can.

dannyboy46: how late can you stay?

xGinaBabe3x: IDK. my mom and I are waiting until my dad gets home.
