Just a Freak

Gone.

He's gone.

He's actually gone.

The next day I came to school, Joe comes up to me and tells me;

"He's gone."

"Gone where?"

Joe shrugged. "Disappeared, Ri. Kaput. Gone," he sighed. "Do you have any idea why he'd leave? 'Cause he never said anything to any of us."

I was quiet for a moment.

"No," I said. "No, I don't."

He really did leave.

God...

Dirk. You stupid, stupid bastard.

Mom and Nana have been treading lightly whenever I'm around, avoiding loud noises or harsh comments.

I still haven't told them what happened, and they sort of seem okay with that.

Right now, I just want to forget it and pretend like it never even happened.

My life really sort of sucks right now.

Saturday rolled around and I found myself woken up by my mother, holding the telephone over my head.

It was K.
