I Hate What You Do To Me

Open Your Eyes

Frank's POV
She couldn't be, she wasn't.
I wouldn't let her be.
She couldn't leave me so suddenly.
My head spun as I rushed over to her side, "CALL 911 OR WHATEVER IT IS HERE!"
Chloe was already on the phone to the emergency services.
"Heather, wake up please wake up." I begged as I cradled her body, tears streaming down my face, "Please don't be dead, I need you. Please wake up."
She didn't move, her eyes didn't flutter, there was nothing.
The driver came running over, a look of absolute shock on his face, "Oh God oh God what have I done??"
I sat and cradled Heather's lifeless body, sobbing hysterically, not taking any notice of anything going on around me.
Chloe approached with that dog, Jack, "They're on their way."
"Oh God what have I done."
"Please…please wake up."

Blue lights started flashing as the ambulance arrived, accompanied by the police.
Paramedics rushed over to Heather and I.
"Please wake up."
"Frank, they need her. Let go, they need to take her." Chloe reasoned.
"I can't let go."
"I'm sorry sir, she needs immediate medical attention."
I let them take her, strap her to a stretcher, "Wait. I want to come."
"Sorry sir, not a possibility."
"Please don't take her away from me."
"Frank it's ok, we'll follow in a car."
"I'll drive you guys."
"Heather…"
Chloe led me over to a car and got me in.
I needed to call Gee.
It seemed stupid, but I just needed my best friend, "Gee?"
"Frank what's wrong??"
"She's…she's…"
"Rejected you?"
"No! She's been in a car accident!"
"Oh my God I'm so sorry Frank. Do you want me to fly over?"
"Yes…please."
"Ok, I'll get over as soon as I can."
"Thank you."
"Hang on in there Frankie-poo."

"You can see her now."
I walked into the stark white hospital room.
There on the bed was Heather, beaten and bruised.
I sat down by her bed, not planning to move until she woke up.
Chloe had left, she would be back later.
Gee was on the plane.
Heather was half dead in hospital.
Things had gone from great to crap.
Beyond crap, "Heather, I know you probably can't hear me but I just want you to know that I'm here, always. And I'm not letting you go anywhere."

Days passed.
Gee came, with the guys.
They sat with me.
Chloe came and went day to day.
Heather never stirred.
The doctors were becoming worried.
Worried that she wouldn't wake up.
I wouldn't let them give up on her.
I wouldn't give up on her.
She wasn't going to leave me like this.

Days turned into weeks.
I was dragged away for a couple of days.
I returned to her bedside immediately.
In case anything happened.
Anything.
She stirred.
I sat up.
She stirred some more, and slowly, very slowly,
Her eyes opened.
"Heather! Oh thank God you're ok. You're alive, you're awake!" I was nearly crying out of happiness.
She looked at me, confusion clouding her eyes, "Wh…who are you?"
