With You Always

The kids walk quickly, talking and giggling. Ryan walks into the school building two hours late.

"Oh Ryan, thank god," Ellie runs up to him.

She wraps her arms around her neck in a hug. He just stands there, not recieving the hug. Ellie frowns, backing away.

"You're still upset," she says sadly.

"Your arms. You aren't wearing long sleeves."

"I got warm."

"I didn't know it got this bad," Ryan grabs her arm but she pulls away.

"Can't you just treat me like a normal girl? At least at school."

She stalks off. A girl comes up next to her. The girl points at Ellie's arms and Ellie shakes her head and puts her sweatshirt back on.

Ryan turns around and walks out of the school.

I guess it was easier to be normal at school. Not to have to deal with it. Just be me.
