License to Love

Unpredictable

‘’You’ve been slacking off so much, young lady! Your homework isn’t started; your grades are slipping; rude has become your middle name and you’re always with Gerard! What is going on!?’’ Mum screamed, crossing the room so she was in front of me.

I cringed, not daring to look up at her. A minute ago, she was sitting next to me on the lounge. Now she was screaming hysterically, walking from one side of the room to the other.

‘’I… I don’t know,’’ I squeaked.
‘’Well, you’ll be finding out soon! While you’re looking for another roof over your head!’’ She retorted, dropping a bag on my foot.
‘’W-what?’’ I questioned, ‘’what are you talking about?’’
‘’I’m kicking you out! I expect you to be gone by morning!’’

My eyes strayed from my feet to her red face. How could she do this? Surely she was joking. I never thought my mum would have the guts to do something like that. I guess that’s just what I get for lying to her – to everyone.
