‹ Prequel: Inside My Arms

Loving You From The Past

Don't go.

I looked at Gerard.
Wondering what should I do.
Decided to drag his body.
To his bedroom.

It was difficult.
He pulled away a lot of times.
Moaned to let him go to sleep.
But I took a strong grip on him.
Dragged his heavy body to the hallway.
Down to the one bedroom it holds.
And dumped him on his bed.

I've never been inside his house.
It was so surreal because
the last time I've ever been to
his bedroom was when he
decided to break up with me.

I looked around.
To see letters and letters.
To see drawings and drawings.
To see crumpled pieces of papers.
To see a portrait of my eighteen year old self.

It was in an elegant frame.
The features looked so realistic.
And it was framed above the bed.

I climbed on the bed.
Stood up to see a closer look of it.
And saw Gerard's signature on the left corner.

I couldn't help,
but gasp in shock.

Why would Gerard keep this?

My knees gave up.
I went downwards.
Landing on top of Gerard.

Gerard moved a little.
Opened his eyes a few times.
And gave me a toothy smile.

"Sorry,"
I mumbled.

I got up quickly from him.

"Nah, it's alright,"
he said.

"Are you okay?"
I asked.

"Still drunk as hell,"
he replied with a grin.

I frowned.
Putting my lips in a tight line.
My eyebrows furrowing every second.

"I should go,"
I tell him.

I turned around.
To walk away.
But got stopped.
By his hand around
my wrist.

"No, don't,"
he hoarsely whispered.

I looked at him.
His face was sincere enough.

"Why not?"

"Because I want you to stay."
