Valeria’s POV
I woke up with my head pressed into Matt’s chest and a hand rubbing my back. I shifted in place and lifted my head to look up at Matt who smiled down at me
“Hey sleepy, you’re finally awake!” I groaned and looked at my alarm clock
“It’s 10 o’clock already!? When did we get home last night?” I asked him, shocked at the time. He shrugged
“Probably about midnight but then we all sat down and talked for a while remember?” he asked, I thought a moment and all I really remember is going to sleep
“I must have been really tired last night to not have remembered that, oh well, err you wanna get up so I can shower?” I asked him with a raised eyebrow. He grinned at me
“Is that an invitation?* I laughed and smacked him lightly on the chest
“Don’t think so buddy, you haven’t earnt that right” he playfully glared at me then rolled off and let me get out of bed.
I hopped into the shower and started washing my hair when I heard Matt talking outside the bathroom door, he sounded kind of angry but I ignored it and carried on. 5 minutes later the bathroom door opened and closed with a slam and I heard the taps turn on
“Err Matt?”
“What?” he said back rather aggressively.
“What’s the matter, who was on the phone?” I asked as I carried on with my shower routine. I heard him sigh and then he said
“That was Don Diangelo, he has a mission for us and it means Brian, Zacky and I will be gone on that and apparently Johnny has to go and do a deal in LA with Jimmy as his only back up, this is shit! Jimmy isn’t good in the conflict department and this gang Johnny’s dealing with is known for beating runners and stealing what they have” I sighed, I know how hard things that could be and I knew of the LA gang, they didn’t play by mafia rules.
“Well I don’t know what to say Matt apart from that if either Jimmy or Johnny, don’t feel they can do this then either say no or just make sure they have a team on stand by in case they need any help”
“Yeah but, urgh this is just not the way we usually do things” I popped my head round the shower curtain and looked at Matt
“Well that is shit, why would he split you up?” he glared at his reflection in the mirror
“Apparently he really needs us on this mission and he thinks it will be good for the guys to do something with out us backing them up” I sighed and finished my shower then turned the water off. I wrapped a towel around myself then stepped out of the shower.
I walked up behind Matt and gave him a hug,
“it will be ok Matt, they will do fine, they are tough you know, I mean Johnny has to be to put up with the shit you guys give him!” I joked and got my desired effect when I saw Matt grin at me through the mirror.
“yeah we do give him shit all the time and I know they can handle it but still we work better as a team” I gave him an extra squeeze then bumped him out of the way of the mirror. I got my dryer out and plugged it in then turned to Matt who was staring at me
“they will be fine, now get out and go change while I get ready” he grinned and walked towards the door. When he reached it he turned back to me
“you look hot in a towel” I laughed and threw a hand towel at him, which he dodged and walked out of my room to his own.
I dried and straightened my hair, flicking out the ends then put on mascara, lip gloss and eyeliner and then walked out to my room and put on some underwear. I walked over to my closet and looked through for something to wear, as I had my back turned to the door I didn’t see who it was that entered so as I heard the door open I said
“hey there, do you think you could help me find an outfit?” the person walked up behind me and stopped then said
“hmm, how about something red?” I jumped from shock at the voice, I turned around to see Matt stood there with a huge grin on his face, looking me up and down
“nice! Way better than the towel” I glared and hit him on the chest
“I am not dressed, don’t you like knock first?”
“well no because then I miss out on sights like this” I rolled my eyes and turned back to my closet.
“so what’s this mission of yours about then?” I asked as I looked through my clothes, he sighed and I heard him walk and sit down on my bed
“well we have to track this low time thief turned murderer, he tried to steal from one of the clubs and well he ended up pulling out a gun and killed 3 girls and a barman, it was bloody apparently” I looked round at him
“how do you know, you seen pictures?”
“nah just what Don said and well the guys and I will be gone for a week at the least” I stopped still and just stared at my clothes
“a week? At the least?”
“yeah, we have to pack a bag then go get the info from Don and we head straight out from there” I swallowed a mouthful of saliva then said in a calm voice
“oh, so when do you leave?” he sighed then flopped backwards on my bed
“tonight, so we can make good travel time” I nodded slowly then carried on picking out an outfit. I heard Matt let out another sigh then he came up and pulled me into a hug, I hugged him to me tightly and held back tears
“it’s gonna be ok, you were telling me this only minutes ago remember”
“yeah but Jimmy and Johnny won’t be gone for a week with no contact, what if something happens to you guys that we don’t know about? What if you get caught, we’ll never see you again” Matt smoothed my hair down and squeezed me slightly before pulling me away slightly and looking into my eyes
“nothing will happen, ok? We will be just fine and I promise to get this mission over with quickly so I can come back and prove it to you” I smiled weakly at him and he pulled me back into a hug.
After a few moments hugging I pushed him away and wiped a hand over my face then smiled up at him
“right well I still need to get dressed, you said red right?” Matt smiled at me and I turned back to my closet and picked out a pair of indigo jeans, a red jumper and a pair of heeled boots and put them on then did a twirl for Matt who whistled for me, I giggled at it then he got up and offered a hand
“you wanna go have some breakfast?” I smiled at him and took his hand
“definitely, I can smell the bacon already” he grinned and we walked out in search of food.
We reached the kitchen to find Brian, Johnny and Zacky sat at the table eating, rather depressed looking, with Arianna at the stove frying bacon and eggs. I let go of Matt’s hand and walked over to help my sister
“hey big sis, how was your night? And don’t say boring, I remember you and Zacky” Arianna grinned at me and offered me the spatula for the eggs which I gladly took and started taking them out of the pan
“well we danced at the club and kissed while admitting our attraction for one another then when we got back here we went to sleep” I raised an eyebrow at her
“just sleep? You? Err this is you we’re talking about, there is no way you just slept” Arianna playfully glared at me then smiled
“well we did and I have to say I liked it way better than meaningless sex” I gasped and clutched my chest
“my sister, Arianna, liked sleeping better than sex?! What the hell is up with that?” Arianna just laughed and I carried 2 plates of eggs and bacon over to the table with Arianna following with her own.
I gave Matt his which he thanked me for then sat down and looked at the guys
“you pissed about the missions?” Johnny nodded
“yeah, I don’t wanna deal with the LA gang, I’d rather keep all of my limbs thanks” Zacky looked up and sighed, hugging Arianna as she squeezed his hand
“yeah, a whole fucking week or even more just to kill one guy!”
“yeah it doesn’t make sense” Brian added. Matt shrugged
“it doesn’t matter because we will kill the bastard then get back here as quick as we can and as intact as we can alright!? And Johnny and Jimmy will get the deal done with no injury and be back here before us, it will be fine” I smiled at him and grabbed his hand which he then brought our joined hands up to his mouth and kissed the back of my own hand
“we’ll be fine” he said down to me then looked up at the guys.
I ate my breakfast as did the guys and we talked for a while until we heard raised voices from upstairs. The guys cringed
“Jimmy just told Mina” Zacky said and Brian groaned
“this is not gonna be good, every time we have a long mission Mina gets upset and then they argue and Jimmy goes off mad and then when they get back they cry and have sex and just act all lovey” Ari and I laughed
“sounds like a normal married couple to me” I shrugged and Ari agreed
“yeah, she’s mad he has to go then happy he’s home safe, perfectly normal” the guys just shook their heads then started talking again.
After 20 minutes the shouting stopped and I heard footsteps come down the stairs. The kitchen door opened and there stood Danny in his Pj’s
“mom and dad are fighting again, what have you got to do this time?” he asked the guys while walking over to me. I let him come and sit on my lap and hugged him lightly
“well little D, your dad and us have to go away for a week to do some stuff and your moms not happy about it” Matt told him and Danny nodded
“sure I know that but what exactly do you have to do?” Brain looked up kind of nervously
“err you’re too young to know” I shared a look with Ari who nodded and I turned Danny around slightly so I could look at him.
“you know what your dad does for a living don’t you and you don’t have to play dumb around these guys, Ari and I grew up like this and we knew since we were little what our dad did, kids are clever, aren’t you?” Danny nodded
“yeah I know what he does. What you all do, you kill people or just rough ‘em up and I have known for a while, but my dad doesn’t do that, he more does undercover stuff” Zacky looked at Danny questioningly
“how do you know all that kid?” Danny shrugged
“spying, listening, opening my eyes in the morning, it’s not hard” I grinned at Danny
“well you are good! But yeah your dads going on a mission so you have the whole house with your mom, me and Ari, in other words you, Danny, will be the man of the house” Ari grinned
“damn right! You get to do all the things a guy does like sit on his backside doing nothing” I laughed as the guys protested and Danny grinned
“cool, can I drink beer then?” we all laughed at that one.
“no little D, you can’t but you can drink all the cola you want ok?” Matt said and Danny sighed
“I guess” he got off of my lap and stood up
“I’m gonna go play for a while before the stupid tutor gets here, gotta set something up to err make them have fun” we laughed as he ran from the room and up the stairs.
We sat in the garden talking, the guys and girls separated with us girls by the pool and the guys on the deck. Kat had joined us and we were trying to cheer up Mina who had been glum since she came downstairs. Jimmy didn’t look too hot where he was either. We all just lazed around with Danny occasionally coming running outside and messing with his tutor until they finally left. After that we stayed out until 6 then went in and ate before the guys went upstairs and packed their bags.
Kat disappeared up the stairs with Brian, probably for some ‘you had better come back safe’ sex and Ari followed Zacky up to most likely take over his packing then make out with him. I sighed and went up the stairs; I reached Matt’s room and just leant against the door frame, watching him flit across his room while packing his bag. When he went over to his chest of drawers near the door he looked up at me and gave me a small smile
“you gonna stand there staring or help me?” I crossed my arms and pouted
“nope, I’m gonna prolong it as long as I can” Matt chuckled
“you don’t need to do that darlin’ Kat’s doing a good job of that with Brian” a grin appeared on my face
“atta girl! Aww she is gonna be so bummed at the club tonight!” I said as I walked over and flopped down on his bed.
Matt put a couple of t-shirts in his bag on the bed then came over and sat down next to me
“she’s the only one gonna be bummed?” I glared at him, I knew he just wanted to hear it
“yes Matt I will be bummed too, I won’t be able to just look out into the crowd and see you there anymore, for a whole week!” Matt grinned and leant down and hugged me. I hugged him back tightly then gave him a kiss on the cheek as he pulled away and went back to packing.
All of the guys had finished their packing and ^cough^ other activities and were now stood by the door, waiting to say good bye to everyone. Mina looked about to cry and was hugging Danny so tightly I could see him turning blue. I took pity on the kid and went over to her and took him away then whispered
“go and say good bye to him, I will take care of Danny to give you some time” Mina nodded then looked at Jimmy, a sob ripped from her throat then she launched herself at him and cried into his shoulder as he tried to calm her down.
Danny went off to go say good bye to Johnny who was just leant against the wall looking kind of bored but nervous at the same time. I looked at Brian and Kat and saw that they were currently so wrapped together in a hug I couldn’t tell which arm was whose then a moment later they just started making out, I pulled a face and looked at Ari and Zacky.
They had their heads together whispering to each other with the occasional squeeze of the arms and random pecks, it made me smile to see my sister happy with a guy but sad to see that she only just started being with him and he has to go on a dangerous mission, one that we don’t know the out come of.
I sighed and then jumped slightly when I felt arms wrap around my waist. I spun around to see Matt smiling down at me with a soft smile, his eyes telling me he was sad and didn’t really want to go. I hugged him to me and buried my head in his chest
“tell Don to fuck off!” I mumbled into his shirt and I felt him chuckle
“sorry honey, no can do but I promise to come back safely ok, that’s all I can do” I glared at his chest then lifted my head and smiled at him
“ok but if you don’t keep that promise I will ignore you” he raised an eyebrow
“for how long?” I shrugged
“depends on how bad you’re hurt” Matt laughed and shook his head then pulled me to him again.
Matt pulled back a couple of minutes later and kind of shouted
“ok guys, last good byes we have to go” the guys all sighed and a fresh wave of tears came out of the girls. I sighed and looked up at Matt
“bye” he smiled and replied
“see ya later” I smiled and stood on tip toes then softly placed my lips to his which he returned for about 10 seconds then we released each other. I looked away and went over to the other girls, Matt went to the guys and they all gathered and went out the door to their cars.
The girls, Danny and I all stood just outside the door, waving to the guys as they got in their cars, I had Ari in a one armed hug on my left and Kat on my right with Mina clutching on to her and Danny as well. I saw Matt stick his head out the window and I blew a kiss to him, he grinned at me then gave me one last smirk before he peeled out of the drive with the other guys, the girls falling into fits of tears beside me, me trying to stay strong for them.
It took 30 minutes to get them even near calm and then Kat and I said our good byes and headed out to the club leaving Ari and Mina behind who didn’t feel up to it, to be honest neither did Kat and I offered to tell them she was sick but she said she needed the money.
The night at the club was really bad, Kat got a warning when she slapped one of the customers when he felt her foot then I got involved in a bar fight when two guys fought over a girl and I jumped in to stop them, getting in a few good hits but I didn’t get punished as I was helping another girl. Kat decided to spend the night at ours in Brian’s room where she wanted to feel closer to him, surrounded by his things.
I saw Ari sat at the kitchen table chowing down on ice cream so I took her up to my room where I let her sleep in my room with me after going into Zacky’s room and getting her one of his t-shirts to sleep in that he didn’t take with him.
Over all I got nearly no sleep as I stayed up listening to Ari silently sob as well as the rest of the girls in the house, all the while missing the feel of Matt’s arms wrapped around me.
