Chapter 44
Valeria’s POV
(9 months and 2 weeks pregnant)
I leant back in the bath and groaned as I saw my stomach sticking up out of the water. I was supposed to have given birth 2 weeks ago but it seems baby doesn’t want to part with mommy but what baby doesn’t get is that I want baby out so I can see her and I don’t have to carry her around all the damn time!
Matt and I have tried everything to get this baby to come out even forcing me to eat really hot curry even though I hate curry. I went for a run but after getting to the end of the drive I was too tired and Matt had to sit with me while I got my breath back and could climb back to the house where I fell asleep
That’s another thing; I can’t even do the simplest thing like tie my shoes because the damn baby doesn’t want to come out!
I sighed and Matt ran a flannel over my shoulders
“she will come out soon honey I promise I mean I was a whole month late” I turned my head and glared at him
“so this is your fault, your genetics made it so that she would stay in me longer, what am I? A whale!” Matt sighed and carried on washing me. I let out a breath and took his free hand in mine
“I’m sorry honey but I just want to be able to do normal things” Matt squeezed my hand and replied
“I know baby just stick in there and she will be out soon” I nodded noncommittally and he carried on washing me making me relax.
After 5 minutes I asked
“how are Johnny and Darla holding up?” Matt laughed and replied
“yeah I think they are doing fine and she spends a lot of time around here though you can hear them most of the time” I laughed as I thought about it.
Johnny had decided to look for the girl in the place he picked her up with was a club owned by the Mafia but not one that we had been to before. Well he walked in there and was looking around in case she was there and he happened to notice one of the dancers and when she faced him he saw it was the girl. Well he got a private dance from her and they got to talking and she explained how she left because he had slept with a friend of hers, Johnny asked her out and she agreed and it kind of went on from there, now they are a couple even though unofficial and quite happy. It’s good that Johnny has someone to talk to and things because he looked quite left out all the time around the guys.
I finished my bath and got dressed in jogging bottoms and one of Matt’s t-shirts which are about the only things which fit me now. We headed down the stairs and into the living room where I took a seat on one of the sofas. Everyone was in there and I looked around for Ari and Zacky but I couldn’t spot them, turning to Mina I asked
“hey where are Ari and Zacky?” without taking her eyes from the TV she replied
“they went to the doctors because Ari isn’t feeling very well” I nodded and settled back in my seat as Matt came and sat down next to me handing me a bottle of Coke. We all then sat there watching the TV bored out of our brains.
About an hour later we heard the front door open and close before someone shouted
“guys?!”
“we’re in here!” Brian called and a moment later Ari and Zacky appeared in the doorway with bright smiles on their faces and they were practically glowing with excitement. I raised a brow and asked
“what’s got you guys so excited?” Ari and Zacky looked at each other before saying in unison
“we’re gonna have a baby!” my mouth fell open in shock as did just about everyone else’s and as I stared at them I felt something warm trickle between my legs and looking down I saw my lap was wet. Checking to see if I spilled my coke I saw I hadn’t and I was confused until a sudden sharp pain went through my spine and stomach.
Doubling over I gasped and clutched Matt’s hand. He immediately asked
“what’s the matter?” I gasped again and announced
“I think I’m in labour!” there was a hush until everyone started moving around going and getting my hospital bag and someone getting the car and then someone else ringing the hospital to let them know we were coming.
Ari rushed over and said
“oh my god I’m so sorry!” I hushed her with a grin and said
“don’t you dare be sorry, nothing else made her come out but apparently she wants to be out before her cousin” Ari laughed while Matt was at my side panicking
“ok we have the bag, the car, we called the hospital now is there anything else you need?” I shook my head but re-thought it and Matt jumped on it going “yes what do you need?” I pulled him down to my level and said
“I need a kiss from my husband and then I need said husband to stop panicking ok” he nodded and quickly smiled before leaning in and kissing me deeply.
Pulling back he sighed and said
“I needed that” I laughed and said
“well I’m glad now can someone get me to the hospital so I can give birth?” Matt nodded and pulled me to my feet before leading me out to the car where I got in and we sped to the hospital.
Once there a nurse greeted me with a wheelchair which I gratefully sat in and then she wheeled me to the maternity ward and into a birthing room where Matt joined me and we got on with them checking how far along I was.
Eventually I had dilated enough that they could start me pushing and from there it was all me shouting and swearing and cursing Matt into oblivion.
