Becoming Stronger

We arrived at school not long after.
Gabriel held my hand the whole time until we seperated into differnt homerooms.
"You sure your okay?" He asked.
"I'm fine."
"Okay, see you later"
He let go of my hand and he went up the stairs.

I walked to my locker on the other side of the hall.
While putting in my combonation, Jennifer came up behind me.
"Hey, guess what?" She asked.
"What?"
"He said yes!"
I stare at her.
"What?" I say.
"He said yes. Gerard said yes"
Oh!
"Great!"

Jennifer has been planing on asking him to the dance since we first heard about it 2 weeks ago.

"I know! I'm so happy"
And i'm happy for her.
Gerard is a great guy.
She's lucky.
But I still love my own Gabriel.

"Gerard and Jenny sitting in a tree..K-I-S-S-I-N-G..firt comes lo--" I started
"Hi: Gerard said out of nowhere.
I started cracking up.
Jennifers face turned pink.
"Hey." I said.
"Hi." Jenny said.
Gerard looked at me, then Jennifer.
"See you later." He said and walked away.
That smile.
He smiled at Jennifer as if he just learned how to smile.
And liike he wanted to just show the world.

"Jen, your blushing like crazy!" I said.
