Rocking, Rolling and Loving
Chapter 14
It was finally time to go to FNMTV and I could not be more excited. Bobbi was coming with us and was six weeks pregnant. I guess time really does fly by. Being back in California is going to be unreal, but awesome at the same time. When I was younger, I never even thought I would ever be there, but dreams do come true. I am back on a plane and can barely contain myself.
"Hey Jenna?" Bobbi asks from beside me in the middle seat.
"Yeah?"
"How long is this trip again?"
"About five hours, unfortunately."
"That fucking sucks."
"Tell me about it. I love being on a plane, but not for that long."
"And it doesn't help that I'm craving so much food."
I laughed.
"I totally understand how that feels."
"Thanks."
"Your welcome. I promise we're going to eat as soon as we get to the hotel. They're going to have a lot of food for us."
"Thank God." she sighed heavily.
I looked at Raven and she was sleeping soundly. That was good; I needed a nap. I slowly fell into a deep sleep. Before I knew it, we had landed in Los Angeles.
"Jenna, wake up. We're here." Bobbi said, shaking my shoulder gently.
"Ok. I'm up."
By the time we got to the hotel, it was around 9:30 Pacific Time. Damn. I was going to have to get used to a different time zone, again. I still had a bit of jet lag, so I was kind of out of it and exhausted. When we found out where and who we'd be sharing a room with for the night. I began to think of where in the room was Sebastien and Raven going to sleep? I know that there's a lot of space in Bobbi and I's room, but seriously; this room is going to be packed. Once I set everything up and took care of my kids; you know, making sure they were happy and checking to see if they needed anything, I fell asleep while Bobbi babysat them. This will give her great practice before she becomes a mother in a matter of seven and a half months. I woke up a couple of hours later, refreshed, but to crying. I half groaned. I gently patted her back and gave her a pink pacifier. I was surprised Sebastien was still asleep.
"How were they?" I asked Bobbi.
"Really good. Thanks for the practice. I appreciate it, but I'm still scared about becoming a mother for the first time."
She began to cry and I hugged her.
"You'll be fine. I felt the same way when I conceived Sebastien on my honeymoon. I didn't know what to think."
"Yeah. I guess you're right. I'm just overwhelmed."
"It'll get better, trust me."
"Ok. Thanks."
"Your welcome."
She hugged me back.
Later, around five, we went out to eat at the Golden Corral. In my opinion, that's one of the best places to eat and the best buffet in the world. I had first eaten here during my senior year in high school on the way home from Myrtle Beach on a our yearly band trip. Corinna and Kelsey agreed with me. We had eaten here together with me; we were even roommates. We arrived at the studio where FNMTV was filmed and where we soon would be talking to Pete Wentz and performing. It was now seven and the show would start at eight. We were shown our dressing room; it was huge. Then, we were told when we would be going on and all that. I was so happy that no one could tear the smile that was on my face right now. I squealed and hugged my bandmates who could barely contain themselves. A half hour later, there was a knock on our door. We all wondered who it could be at this time since it wasn't time to go yet. I opened the door to see Pete Wentz in the flesh. I was flabbergasted.
"Hi ladies." he said.
"Hi. I'm Jenna Iero, pleasure to meet you."
He smirked.
"So, you're married to Frank Iero? How's he doing?"
"Great. He's back in New Jersey, while I have our two kids."
"Cool. Tell him I said hi."
"Ok. I'll do that as soon as I can."
"Anyways, I just wanted to talk to you ladies before you come on stage."
"Ok." everyone, but Bobbi said in unison.
He talked for only a few minutes, but it felt like forever. After he left, I had to sit down, I was so overwhelmed.
"You okay Jenna?" Corinna asked.
"Yeah. I just can't believe that I just talked to Pete Wentz!"
We all laughed. Soon enough, we went out on stage to talk to him again about our new album and our first single.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to bring out, the women of The Last Dream!" Pete announced.
I was nervous, but excited. It was hard for me to talk in front of people. We went out with me being the first one out. My friends insisted on it. So, I stood next to Pete and tried not to blush, which I believe was successful.
"When was the band formed?"
"About 8 years ago when most of us were in high school together, but didn't get back together until last year. Thankfully, we were luckily enough to get a record deal on the same label as My Chemical Romance." I said.
"Is that a coincidence?"
"Well, no, not at all. I'm married to Frank Iero."
I couldn't believe I said that out loud for the whole world to hear. Everyone cheered and clapped. I later found out that Frank was watching it.
"Congratulations."
"Thanks."
He went on with other questions about the album, our single and our video before we waited backstage to perform at the end of the show. We did soundcheck quickly on break. The minute we stepped out, we heard cheering and yelling. I blushed as I got onto my drumset and began the song.
That night went so great, but I was pooped and wanted to go back to the hotel and be with my children who were so proud of me, which is one of the greatest things that you could ever ask for. Two days later, when we went to Canada, which I've never been to, we had a fabulous time, especially on MuchMusic, where we got to talk to fans, sign merch and perform. I was surprised at how many fans we had in Canada. I guess that I didn't realize how big things were going and would be getting.
"Hey Jenna?" Bobbi asks from beside me in the middle seat.
