Mad Love

Why Didn't You Try To Escape?

Before I knew it he slipped the shirt on over me, and left the room. Leaving me confused and tired. I just laid there on the bed, wondering why he would do something mean, and then go back and be nice. Since I wasn't coming up with an answer I just fell asleep, hoping maybe one day I would understand that strange man.

I woke up the next morning, feeling better than last night. I could move, and I didn't feel dizzy. The house was silent. There was no sign of The Joker in the room, so I got up, and began looking around. I walked into the kitchen, and it smelled as if something was burnt. In the sink was a pan, with burnt eggs in it. I'm guessing he can't cook worth a damn. I found The Joker asleep on the couch. He looked somewhat innocent asleep, even with the make up.

What the hell was I thinking?!? The Joker, looking innocent? Please!

I just ignored my mental argument with myself and decided to cook breakfast. I was kinda hungry anyway.

"What are you doing?" I heard The Joker say from behind me, causing me to jump.

I didn't like that he caught me off guard. Hell, he does a lot of things I don't like.

"I'm cooking breakfast." I said, as I tried to hurry up and finish.

It was making me feel uncomfortable that he was standing right behind me, watching me. So I quickly made two plates, and sat them on the table.

He said down without saying a word and began eating.

"Why didn't you try to escape?" He asked, as I sat down across from him.

Honestly I didn't think it. I didn't have an answer for him. But he continued to stare at me, not satisfied with the silence.

"I don't know."

He smiled.

"Good girl" He whispered.
