Someday I will Understand
Chapter 5 The meet and greet
The girls followed Brian down a short hallway to a room that had been set up as kind of like a cool off room with sofa’s plates with sandwiches on them and bags every where with the bands clothing in it.
“Hey guys” Brian said to grab MCR’s attention, “I’d like you to meet a couple of people that won that competition to meet you”
Slowly there were five faces staring at Kate and Keisha, “Ok girls over there is Frank, Frank was sitting on a chair looking relaxed, Both girls waved and said HI,
“Hey Iero you’re a fucking snob!, Hi I’m Gerard and you are” looking directly at Kate and Keisha
“Hi I’m Keisha, this is my friend Kate, its nice to meet you” Keisha said with a smile on her face, Kate couldn’t help but just stare at Gerard, slowly his eyes looked in to hers and he smiled “Don’t you talk much” “ahh yeah I do” Kate said quietly
Slowly the rest of the band got up and the girls were introduced to Ray, Bob and Mikey
Kate took a seat on the sofas and Keisha stood talking to Bob and Ray bout there music, while Gerard and MIkey along with Frank sat on the opposite sofa of Kate
“So did you enjoy the concert, Mikey said looking directly at Kate
“Yeah it was fucking awesome, you guys were great, no wonder you inspire so many”
Kate started talking to Gerard “So you must be full of energy especially with how your performance went”
“Yeah I’m not tired at all, maybe that’s from drinking all the coffee” Kate let out a little giggle
“So what do you do” Gerard said looking in to Kate’s eyes
“I work in the entertainment industry”
“Are you a stripper?” Frank said laughing as he said it
Caught by surprise Kate looked at Frank and said “no but would you want me to be one”
“Ha she just got you there Frankie, Gerard said laughing
“I actually work in movies, nothing too exciting, it’s a job but it has it’s days”
Kate could feel her head was starting to hurt her as how she had her hair done under the wig was very tight.
Gerard, Frank and Mikey just looked at her as she took the wig off her head and taking her hair out of the bun.
In astonishment Mikey just had his mouth opened, where as Gerard just studied her watching her blonde hair falling down on to her shoulder’s, in his mind she thought she looked pretty hot with the brown hair, but now seeing she had blonde hair he couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
“Um.... How come your wearing a wig” Mikey said with his mouth still opened, by now this had caught Keisha, Bob and Ray’s attention as well
“Well um... I just wanted to come here, I mean to the concert not having everyone look at me”
“What are you on about” Gerard said
Kate looked at Gerard and took the contact lenses also out of her eyes “thank fucking god, these have been stinging my eyes like all day”
“Basically I wanted to come here as Kate, not Kate Bass- I guess in someway I wanted to be normal, hope I haven’t scared anyone, I must have looked pretty weird pulling my hair off”
“Yeah you did”
“Your that fucking hot actress aren’t you?” Frank said excited
The penny had finally dropped for everyone else as to who Kate really was. “I wouldn’t say hot but yeah I am that actress” Kate said trying to laugh
“That was a cool get up you had there” Ray said maybe a little to enthusiastically
“Thanks”
Everyone continued talking but once in a while Kate couldn’t help but glance at Gerard and look in to his soft brownish eyes and her heart would just melt, they looked so comforting.
By now Gerard was talking to Mikey telling him bout Kate and how he thought she was real pretty and so down to earth and it was like he couldn’t stop talking to her “Why don’t you ask her back to the hotel and we can have a few drinks” Mikey said.
Keisha looked at her watch and realised that there time was up, she looked at Kate as if to say its time to go.
“Well it’s time for me to be off now, it really was nice meeting you all, and good luck for the rest of your tour”
“Thanks, same to you” Gerard said
As Mikey was standing next to Gerard he nudged him in the ribs and hissed “ask her”
As the girls were leaving Gerard ran down the hall to them
“Hey Kate”he yelled
Kate turned around she couldn’t believe it Gerard Way was calling her name
“Hey you!”
“I was um wondering... Gerard paused he didnt know how to get the words out of his mouth... um I well the guys and I wanted to know if you two wanted to come back to our hotel and have a couple of drinks”
Kate with a huge smile on her face said yes
They Both exchanged details and Kate realised that where the guys were staying was only a short walk from the arena.
“Ok well we will see you in bout 15-20"
“Sounds good”
They both headed in different directions, as Gerard was walking back to the change room, he had a feeling that there was something about Kate and he wanted more.
“Gee how did it go?”
“Fine, they are both coming, they will meet us there shortly, Kate has to put her wig back on and that, she was saying something bout paparazzi”
“Dude your in love” Frank said laughing
Gerard just went bright red and started to blush, by now the guys were ready to leave and headed back to there hotel.
