Time Takes Us All.

All Alone.

Gerard got himself a bottle of Jack Daniel’s. He didn’t bother finding a glass to drink of.
Frank’s death had made him an alcoholic again. Frank had cured it once, but now when he was gone, Gerard needed something to heal the neverending pain. Even if it was just for a few hours. The pain would never completely disappear, but the alcohol somehow made it easier to face Frank’s sudden death.

He remembered promising Frank that he would never drink again. But what else had Frank expected when he had left Gerard behind like that?
The world was too awful to deal with alone.

Gerard had no family or friends left. They had all turned their backs against him when he had been at his worst. They "couldn’t have a drunk jerk in their family, it would ruin their reputation".
But when Frank came along, everything had been so much better. Gerard quited drinking for Frank’s sake. It had turned his whole life upside down, to the better. He didn’t need his family or his bad friends when he had had Frank.

Now he had nothing.
No Frank, no family, no friends.
Nothing worth living for, really.
No life.

It’s funny how ironic life turns out to be.
