Crossed Paths

How much can one person sleep?

Roxy woke up a while later, when Jane pulled up outside a huge house, Matt and Zacky were also awake, but Ashleigh was still fast asleep.
“Oh great, does this mean I’m going to have to carry her in?” Matt asked,
“Yep, well, either that or you could kick her,” Roxy sleepily replied,
“I think I’ll just carry her.”
Jane opened the front door and let everyone in,
“What about our stuff?” Roxy asked,
“I’ll get the boys to bring it in later if you want?”
“Ok,”
“Zacky, can you show Roxy where her room is, and Matt, you can go put Ashleigh in her room, and let her sleep.” Jane said to the two boys as they went upstairs Matt still carrying Ashleigh, and Roxy following behind,
“You know for a 17 year old she’s pretty light.”
“It’s cause she’s short.” Roxy said yawning. Zacky stopped by the 3rd door on the left, which was Roxy’s new room, and Matt walked to the next door on the left, which would be Ashleigh’s room. He kicked the door so it opened, and then walked over to the bed and put her down gently, before leaving and shutting the door behind him. He went back out into the corridor and went to Roxy’s room where he saw Roxy collapsed on the bed,
“Comfy?” He asked,
“I asked that as well.” Zacky laughed,
“Meh,” Roxy mumbled.
“Bloody hell, how much does this girl sleep?” Matt said,
“Quite a lot apparently.” Zacky replied, as Roxy kicked him,
“Ow, ok she’s not asleep.” Zacky said, jumping up and rubbing his leg
“No I’m not, but that’s mainly because I’m hungry.”
“Well, what do you want to eat?” Zacky asked,
“I don’t know, what you got?”
“Jack shit” Syn said walking into the room.
“Think I’ll pass on that” Roxy said stretching so her top rose up slightly.
“Belly button” Zacky said poking her,
“Don’t touch my belly, my belly,” She said, hitting Zacky’s hand,
“Ok, chill. So do you want to have a look around a bit, I’ll give you a tour if you want?”
“Ok. Shall I go see if Ashleigh’s up?”
“No, its alright, I’ll go, you can make a quick stop by the kitchen, I’m sure you’ll find something to eat, we’ll catch up in a bit.” Matt said, leaving and going back to Ashleigh’s room. He knocked and opened the door slightly; Ashleigh wasn’t asleep on the bed anymore. She was now sitting on the windowsill looking out,
“Are you alright?” Matt said, making Ashleigh jump and nearly fall off the windowsill,
“What? Oh right, yeah, I’m fine.” She said regaining her balance and looking at Matt. Her eyes looked glassy and slightly red,
“No you’re not, you’ve been crying haven’t you. What’s up?” He asked, sitting opposite Ashleigh.
“I just- I miss the orphanage. Well, not so much the orphanage-I miss Michael.”
“Were you two going out?”
“No. I just- we were just really, really good friends.”
“Ah, I see, you liked him didn’t you,”
“What? No. Yes. I don’t know!” Ashleigh said, resting her head on the window. They heard screaming from downstairs,
“What the hell’s going on down there?” Ashleigh exclaimed,
“God knows, they’re probably murdering each other or something,” Matt replied, standing up, “You coming?”
“Yeah, might as well. Oh but can you not mention that to anyone please, especially not Roxy.”
“Don’t worry I wont. But speaking of Roxy, I think we should go and see why she’s screaming.”
