The Hidden Truth
The Hidden Truth
Luke Skywalker watched Mirmo and Karen approach to the ship that would take them off planet. It was so nice to see the two work together and exchange meaningful glances. It was he who asked Mirmo to visit his apprentice when hurt. It was he that found the trembling scared and highly emotional Karen in that dark temple. Mirmo had his old pride for his apprentice back and seemed to be excited as Karen to get out of the temple and hot jungle. Karen was quiet, but focused. The council meeting brought something out in her that wasn’t here before. She was bolder and wiser. She had more respect for others, but seemed less likely to engage them in conversation. Soon, the ship was ready, the plan was rehearsed and nothing else remained to be done. The apprentice and master walked up to Luke to give him a final goodbye. Mirmo was the first to say something.
“Master Skywalker, or should I call you Luke? Take care ok? Keep an eye on that are two unit of yours and keep those students meditating for me.”
Luke couldn’t help but smile. Mirmo was one of the most meditative people he knew. Perhaps it was because Mirmo was so use to living inside of his head. He wasn’t sure, but he had no doubts that Mirmo was a great Jedi and soon was to rise to the level of masterhood soon. Karen then looked at him, shyly like she had something to say, but wasn’t sure how to say it. Luke nodded his head in encouragement.
“Master Skywalker, I just want to thank you for everything. I want to thank you for respecting my privacy and in return I want you to have something that I think all will be made clear.”
She handed him a folded up letter. He took it and tucked it into his belt. He thanked Karen and promised to read this once they had gone. She smiled and unexpectedly hugged him. He hugged her back and then released her. He wished both of them well and the Force to be with them. They both gave a similar good bye and climbed up the ramp of the ship. He watched the ship fly out of view and walked back to his room. He slowly sat down on his neatly made bed and unfolded the letter. It was neatly hand written that showed the author took great care into the meaning in the words. He slowly read at first, but found his eyes racing through the ever shocking and full of vital information that he never thought he would find out.
Dear Master Skywalker,
I want to apologize for dodging your questions about Master Yoda, but I had a good reason to. See, like you, I have been trained by him, but not in the same fashion. Because of this, I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to give away this secret. The astral plane has so many rules and delicate balances of fates, one must be deadly careful to keep the balance of the universe when one is so young and new to the way of life.
On my planet your secret training with the grand Master of the old order was no secret. I knew of the various falls you took, the progress you made and how, the lessons you learned and so on. I knew the talk you had with the ghost like Obi Wan and how you saw him, Master Yoda, and your father after the battle of Endor, after your father had become one with the Force.
The phrase, one with the Force, has caught my eye for many of year and I had yearned to understand how a soul can appear like that. During my fifth year of training on my planet I was lucky enough to come across the answer. Unlike in the rest of the galaxy, the answer is not very much of a secret, but not greatly known. There is a technique called astral projection, or also known as out of body experiences, where the soul temporarily leaves the sleeping body, and enters another plane. This plane seems to holds the dead, at least the dead souls of people able to retain their impact in the Force. There are only so many Jedi that have been able to do this and I was extremely lucky, or possibly talented enough to meet these Jedi. For several years I have trained under the guidance of various spirits. One of the spirits being Master Yoda.
I wanted to tell you all this before. I wanted to question you to death, to joke about the mistakes we foolishly made, and compare the experiences we had with the great little Jedi. Yet, because you did not know about any of this, I had to hold my tongue and wait for the Force to tell me when. You are probably wondering why I didn’t ask Master Yoda himself and I have a good response for that. When I went onto the ship to travel to your planet, I was informed by him and other Jedi that while training in the presence of you, I could not project or tell anyone of my experiences.
I would also like to cast out any doubt you had of seeing Master Yoda when you came to rescue me. Yes, you really did see him for a brief minute. I believe he appeared for both of us. Why you, I’m a bit unsure of, but I’m sure you can find out.
Now that I am on my way to a new planet and away from the temple, I can explain to you how to project yourself. Unfortunately the instructions are too long and complex for me to explain, but I will help you never the less. Be alert for my presence for the next couple of days. I am not sure if one can project while traveling in hyperspace, but I’m sure when I arrive to my destination I will be able to reach you and show you how.
I hope you can forgive me for with holding this information. This is my last hidden truth. I now realize if I tried to tell you before, you wouldn’t have believed me. Perhaps the deceased Jedi knew this as well. You never know what they know, but they know more than you or I do.
Thank you and good luck on your first trip to the astral plane. My only hint for you is to not be afraid and do not resist.
May the Force be with you,
Karen Nightingstar
Luke finished the letter and read it over a second time, seeping in the all the meaning the first reading had missed. It was quite a shock to find out this young woman had this great secret. While he knew he was fated to become one with the Force, he was extremely unclear of how this happened. The question had been bothering him for some time. There were many questions to be asked, but they would be asked in time and if all went well, answered by his old teachers. He put down the letter and looked away at the tan walls, full of inner peace. He sighed and brushed a hand through his hair, wondering what the young woman was doing. He muttered a thanks to the Force and to the Jedi. His respect in Karen had grown even more with this new found knowledge. The mere fact that his teacher felt the need to train her, showed her greatness. Karen truly was a Jedi.
