Superman

Someone asked today.
“Why would superman want to leap tall buildings in a single bound if he can fly?”
And nobody knew. Nobody knew, that superman wasn’t so super.
Originally, superman couldn’t fly.
Originally, superman wasn’t such a big, blue boy scout.
Superman used to kill people.
That was before they decided superman had to be pure of heart.
Before they decided that he only had one weakness.
Originally, superman died in the nineties.

But then they decided that he was too powerful to die.
“How could somebody so great die?”
How could we lose such a bankable character?
So they made him perfect.

But you know what?
Nobody wanted perfection.
People stopped buying superman.
Perfection gets boring so fast.

Originally, superman was a villain.
