The Perfect Moment

The Perfect Moment

The cool air skimmed her skin like feathers as the far away horizon reflected itself in her eyes.
The sounds of the down below waves crashing and breaking against the rocks rang in her ears like the loud roars of a beast.
White birds flew up in the sky and perched themselves upon trees.
Unseen fish swam deep in the dark water.
And, deep inside her chest, her heart throbbed endlessly against her lungs filled with mid-summer air.
Ecstasy was the feeling she had craved for, yet, her present feeling left her satisfaction ample.
Spreading her arms like wings, she let the wind push against them.
All she wanted to do was to fly.
The smile arched across her lips was not her usual.
Even though her eyes were now closed, the happiness radiated behind her lids like the rays of the presently setting sun.
Her hair danced around her head flawlessly as if possessed by gods and goddess’, tickling her ears teasingly.
Fingers shaking, she raised up to the tips of her feet like a Russian ballerina, awaiting her final leap.
All the while, the surface below waited eagerly for her.
All she had to do was take the last step and it would be…
The Perfect Moment.
